stream support for mobile phones

Recommended Posts

hello all,

I cannot imagen that I am the only one having difficulties setting up a stream server accessable for mobile phone (iPhone's, Adroid's and BlackBerry's)

perhaps someone past a "reference" page while surfing internet?

like to know what to put in adressbar, as

rtsp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/mpeg4/1/media.amp

rtsp://username:password@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/mpeg4/media.amp

rtsp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/axis-media.cgi/mjpeg.cgi

rtsp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/live/mpeg4

rtsp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/stream.264 HMHMHM ARGgg.. I'm lost

why doesn't the manufacturer put the correct streamadress-strings in there manual including ports to trigger/ map/ forward

all hints and suggestions are VERY WELCOME

Greetings, Lampy

on several shops, bars and restaurants i placed some low-budget system like:

note: all sytems mentioned below are accessable through browser or with their software

DSS1000 pc-based DVR (forwarded port 88 & 5550) on Speedtouch modem

AVERDIGI App on iPhone -> not working

AVTech KPD616 standalone DVR (in DMZ) om Speedtouch 501i modem

Eagleeye on Samsung -> not working

rtsp://xx.xx.xx.xx/live/mpeg4 working in Quicktime

rtsp://xx.xx.xx.xx/live/mpeg4 -> not working on Samsung replys: try again

not sure if the string: /live/mpeg4 is the correct one for Samsung

Hikvision DS-7204 HVI-S standalone DVR (in DMZ) on Sitecom wl 173

Eagleeye on Samsung -> not working

in Quicktime and on Samsung the url:

rtsp://xx.xx.xx.xx/stream.264 opens ports in streammediaserver

but Quicktime replys: no content found

and Samsung tells: connection lost

not sure if the string: stream.264 is the correct one

AVTech 796 standalone DVR (in DMZ) on Cisco modem

Eagleeye on Samsung -> not working

rtsp:// tested most common strings -> not working

Axis M1101 Ipcam (forwarded port 82 & 1024) on Sitecom wl 173

Eagleeyes on Samsung -> not working

Security Zone Manager on Samsung -> working but not a nice stream

rtsp://xx.xx.xx.xx/1024/mpeg4/1/media.amp on Samsung -> working!

I build more systems, but these mentioned so you get the picture

more and more managers using smartphones therefore more often I get the question:

I have an Iphone, HTC, Nokia or BlackBerry can I login?

should be possible, Yeah, BUT HOW?

Hi your problem is you are using apps that are not compatable with either your dvr or that are not compatable with your phone.

DSS1000 pc-based DVR (forwarded port 88 & 5550) on Speedtouch modem

AVERDIGI App on iPhone -> not working

avermedia is a dedicated H264 app can only use with avermedia. for iphone or android // java software for anything else

your samsung is windows so you will need a java app then you can download the avtech java viewer for there dvrs

AVTech KPD616 standalone DVR (in DMZ) om Speedtouch 501i modem

Eagleeye on Samsung -> not working

hikvision have a few for windows but again i would use the java viewer. from your windows mobile

tomcctv.. first of all, thanks your fast replys, it gives me a push

that not 1 app is compatable with all dvrs/ nvrs I agree

so I installed:

-Eagleeye, (the Symbian version (.jad/ .jar)) for AVTech's dvr's

working on their demopage links, but on my adresses I get "login error" or "DESCRIBE ERROR"

-Security Zone Mobile, (trial version) for Axis ipcam works.

but putting the url rtsp://.:1024/mpeg4/1/media.amp in the Samsung browser works better

it popsup the mediaplayer, having no controls and the Axis needs to be configured: connect to everyone

-Supervisor, tryed on all my devices "login procedure failed"

-JAVA-Viewer, tryed all mentioned devices dvr's and nvr's, nothing happens (Connecting...)

lets pick this one

DSS1000 pc-based DVR (forwarded port 88 & 5550) on Speedtouch modem

AVERDIGI App on iPhone -> not working

avermedia is a dedicated H264 app can only use with avermedia. for iphone or android // java software for anything else

could be,

the DSS1000 is indeed an Avermedia system

so on the shop owners iPhone I installed from the Applestore:

DSS iViewer By AverMedia &

AVerDiGi iViewer By AverMedia,

still, I can't get it to work

more ports needs to be opened?

your samsung is windows so you will need a java app then you can download the avtech java viewer for there dvrs

hikvision have a few for windows but again i would use the java viewer. from your windows mobile

I'm not sure if this is true

when installing AVerDiGi PDAViewer by Avermedia it replys: content not supported

but then again the Samsung is not a finished machine (birthday present, what can I say)

yes but have you download java first onto your samsung ???

http://www.defencemeasures.com/dm-5288.html# no its not avermedia.

for avermedia you dont need java as this will come from the dvr when you first log on to it from windows.

you just put avers java script after the dvr ip. but since you dont have an avermedia there is no point going though the settings

MMmm.. good question, this 'm not shure, 'll get back on this one

shaken but not stired, eventhough this means averdigi is not related to avermedia. still the questions remains:

(how) can I get a DSS1000 (with Argus capturecards) pc based system working on an Iphone with DSS-Iviewer App installed from the Applestore? would this possible at all?

for avermedia you dont need java as this will come from the dvr when you first log on to it from windows.

correct: on Siemens S75 and Nokia Comunnicator but no streams,

there is no point going though the settings

it would help me (even) with (non) releated hard/ software-settings it gives me an inside how systems are working or should be build

but since you dont have an avermedia there is no point going though the settings

ho ho my post is not finished

the next issue would be:

also installed a NV5000 (HP-TOWER) pc based system in a coctailbar, the url/ script/

http://xx.xx.xx.xx/mobile or /webcam

shows 4 camera icons a page, yet (when selected) it shows only a picture in the (Siemens S75 or shop owners Nokia Communicator) browser. selected again the image refreshes

this is even worse then the "Security Zone Mobile" application

f.t.f, any ideas about the DSS-System on iPhone

this is only a test url. to see if you have remote set up. not the remote software and only shows a picture not footage.

iphone app is easy to set up just enter IP and port and away it goes.

but iphone has its own port which you need to set-up in your portforwarding
