Did they fix the search page yet?
What was the bug in the search page?
Toooooooo slooooow

Apparently they did make an improvement to the search page. This is at least the 2nd update they've made this year to it (might be the 3rd?). It's getting better each time.

I did an un-official test last night with a "smart search" on 12 hours of constant recorded video. It took about 2 minutes. It seemed a bit faster, althought still not instant like Avigilon. It's a step in the right direction, though! And the timeline looks better too. I can't figure out why, though.

Here is what Exacq's blog says they've done in version 4.8:

■Faster, easier search

■Panoramic video views

■Enhanced export Archiving

■Improved Maps – Add I/O triggers to Maps

■Audio alerts added to event monitoring

■ePlayer and exacqReplay Improvements

■Post-motion recording configuration added

■IP Camera Additions from Arecont, Basler, more

■Czech Translation added

The details on the search page improvements are:

-Improved Timeline – Cleaner, easier-to-use timeline bar and display. Simple right-click on timeline bar to mark start and stop points for video export.

-Easy Export – Use mouse scroll wheel to zoom in on the search bar graphic timeline to choose the desired search times.

-Faster Multi-Camera Searching – Significant speed improvements enables faster multi-camera search queries, especially when doing multiple searches.

Here's to dreaming that version 5.0 is a complete re-vamp of the search page to make it as instant as Avigilon's. Then we'll have a winner! (oh, and compatibility with Mobotix, and 'officially' support Avigilon cameras!). Otherwise, I'm still loving my Exacq setup.
