Geovision GV-NET Card

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Has anyone ever had a issue using Geovision version 8.4 with a GV-Net card for PTZ cameras in the cold.

Will explain little better:

have PTZ camera that worked fine through warmer months then when it gets cold we have no control of the PTZ camera through GV software and yes cam has heater and blower, as long as it stays warm out there is not one issue.

We have replaced camera to another model camera and another GV-net card and still does same thing. If you restart the GV system will work for a few but if it is cold will stop working.

Not here... all I can think of is maybe your cable isnt working in the cold...

I try and get my guys to use an 18/2 cable, but most of the time they ran a cat5 cable. We're not using outdoor cat5 cable as the cables not outside really. We have a hole behind the PTZ mount and the cable goes out the wall, directly into ptz housing.

For those cases where theres a covered cable that goes above/below the camera, its protected in a plastic housing.

So my question is what kind of cable did you use for the 485 and is it outside?
