I have an old version of the nv5000 card,i do not know if that makes any difference on todays nv5000.

The problem i have my system keeps crashing with BSOD.

Question i have which is the best opperating system.

I have windows xp 32bit pro or windows 7 32bit utimate also windows 64bit ultimateto choose from.

Go 32 Bit. I had a hell of a time with a 64 bit DVR. Difference between Pro and Ultimate is the language packs and bit locker encryption. Just go with Pro. AVOID 64 BIT!!!

I tried installing my GV1480 on Windows 7 64bit and found it was not compatible. If you go 64bit, check with the manufacturer to make sure the card/software is compatible. I ended up installing Win7 32bit and it worked fine.

^And keep in mind, if you're building a machine for this, 32-bit Windows can only see about 3.5GB of RAM, so building a 16GB monster will mean 80% of that memory is wasted.
