Monitoring VideoIQ camera wirelessly over 4G?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wonder if anyone of you have designed and implemented, or know of a system with one or more VideoIQ cameras that are being monitored from a remote location over 3G or 4G? That is by using a 3G or 4G modem to transmit the video streem to an off-site location?

I am thinking of setting up a VideoIQ camera at my cabin in the archipelago where there is NO wired broad band connection available. The idea would be to place the camera at my cabin and then somehow attach it to a 4G modem/router that cold transfer the videostreams to my house. Would that be possible?

Thanks both of you!

That sounds really promising indeed!

But what about so called "phone jammers"? Will they not be a potential threat in that they might be able to interfer with the signal thus rendering the videocamera useless? Or is there a way to get any "alarm" if the internet connection to the VideoIQ camera is broken? Or with some other device detect that a jammer is in use, and via some other medium/radio frequency not used by the jammer be notified of this?
