DVR can only be accessed when using a proxy.

so when accessing a dvr from another location through the internet, my DNS which is a pure ip address suddenly didnt work, but it worked a few weeks before that. I tried everything (connect/ disconnect, turning on/off, checking my port forwarding ). Then a few days ago, i installed a proxy and it worked. But still didnt work when i dont use a proxy. What could be the problem? I'm pretty sure it's not my router. I'm not sure if it's the modem. Help.

Are you trying to access it using the internal ip address?

 

You need to use telnet to try to see if each port is actually open from the outside world.
