Recommended Posts

Hi new here

I have a AD edvr connected to my pace 4111n modem/router

so far if correct

edvr ip = 192.168. . came from list inside router (internal ip)

subnet 255.255.255.0 from ipconfig on laptop

gateway 68. . . came from whats my ip (I believe is the external ip)

also opened port 80 for 192.168 . .

tested port 80 says open

typed my external ip :80 from remote location and says oops connection broken

but if I type in my internal ip of the dvr in address bar on home pc I can view cameras

What am I missing so I can view remotely

Aswell as opening port 80 you need to port forward this to the dvr.

When your router gets incoming traffic on a port that is open it will let it through but if you don't tell it where to go it won't have a clue.

Port 80 is the default port for internet traffic and would've been open on your router anyway.

You need to tell you router to send any incoming traffic to the ip address of your DVR.
