Bosch Envirodome G3A with Axis 241Q

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I am about at my wit's end here. I have a customer with 3 Envirodome G3A series PTZ cameras. They have upgraded their campus wide system to ONSSI with IP cameras or encoders. The only item not completed is integrating these 3 PTZ cameras with Axis 241Q encoders. I realize this is all legacy equipment, and i have spent a good amount of time with Axis tech support. They agree I have everything setup as they would suggest.

Here are some scenarios I have tried:

- Configured encoder for RS485 with the Phillips PTZ driver v2.03 & 2.02. Envirodome set to RS485 address 1, termination resistors in place.

- Configured encoder for RS232 with the same PTZ drivers as above. Envirodome set to RS232 address 1.

- Configured encoder for RS485 with Pelco PTZ Drivers.

Any advice you can offer is much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

-AJ

I was able to complete this task successfully, and I wanted to post my results.

I purchased a Bosch LTC8786/60 biphase converter, and connected the RS232 output of the Axis encoder to the converter. Seems to work pretty well!
