3500' underground cat5?

Hello, if you guys were doing a 3500' run underground for your own home would you use cat5? Its for one Camera!

There is already power at both ends of the run.

3,500 feet is pushing it for CAT5/CAT6. For that distance, you should use active/active, not baluns. The alternative would be fiber, which is much more difficult (and expensive) to work with.

You can do it, but you need an active receiver/transceiver. It really doesn't matter what type of balun you use, as long as you have an active unit before your switch input.
