Help with a Edimax BR-6258N - How to make ip camera wireless

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Need some help trying to figure out how to properly connect this nano wireless router that I picked up. I'm looking to make one of my ip cameras a wireless camera.

http://www.edimax.com/en/produce_detail.php?pd_id=372&pl1_id=3&pl2_id=18

So I'm having some trouble setting this thing up. At home I have U-Verse, router that I have is a 2WIRE - Model: 3801HGV

Would I be giving the Edimax a static ip number or leaving it at dhcp? Do I have to forward any ports (85 & 37777) on the Edimax? DHCP server off?

Is this the mode that I should be using?

WISP

In this mode, all Ethernet ports are bridged together and this router will connect to ISP’s access point as a client by wireless interface. The NAT is enabled and PCs connected to Ethernet ports share the same IP address to connect to ISP through wireless interface. You must set the wireless network to client mode first, and connect to the ISP’s AP in Site-Survey page. The connection type can be setup in WAN page, available options are: PPPOE, DHCP client, PPTP client or static IP

Thanks for your help guys!
