Costco 1080p Swann Bullets VS Lorex 1080p Domes

Recommended Posts

I have my outdoor camera where WDR is enabled, the noise reduction is set to 100.

You can disable motion detection during the night. Reduce the number of active motion squares on the grid to a minimum.

I would verify to make sure that you don't have soft video

At night, yep, but not in the day time.

I updated one camera to version 5.0 Hikvision firmware.

There is a new option in the software called "Enabled dynamic analysis for motion"

It is shown in the v5.0 manual but not explained.

Anyone played with this setting yet?

Joey,

Was that to a Hik (Swann-LOREX) dome? Was it just a toggle on/ off, or was there also a slider?

That may be very cool!

Well, if that's all it did, "yawn"!

I was hoping for some pseudo- analytical that might improve on false motion.

That is what I was hoping too!

I will let you know what I find.

As this is only in the camera and not the NVR, it won't mean much either way.

yep, that is what it is, the green boxes to help you tune the motion area.

It at least lets you know that the motion is being detected, it'd be nice if this was in the NVR.

Well, it could be helpful perhaps in saving time w/ trial & error. I've been fine-tuning my motion over the period of 1-2 weeks - finding the source of "non-productive" motion events by studying the motion events that were recorded during various time of day, lighting, wind, etc. But, other than that it appears to be more of a "frill" function.

Blue Iris does this, and it's a huge help for setting up motion detect. Their motion detect settings are a lot more complex, though.

How do you know what the firmware version is on the Hikvision cameras? Mine doesn't have that option where it says Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion Detection so not same release.

It was v5.0 from the US Hikvision site.

Raptor Firmware V5.0.0_130412

It mentions this in the manual.
