Why would extender burn up ?

Recommended Posts

What would cause my outreach lite extender to burn up ?

I had it in a waterproof enclosure feeding it with a Zyxel PoE switch.

It was working fine for about a month, then I lost the network connection.

My cable tester showed the cable was fine, but after troubleshooting I found that it was cooked.

No power issues that I am aware of.

I spoke to the manufacture and they seem to think it was water ingress.

I had it in a "waterproof" phone junction box and didn't see any water in it, but I guess it could of got wet somehow.
