H.264 Playback Help

I have a DVR witch is h.264, all working fine but when I Back up files via the cdr I cant play then on a pc, QuickTime pick’s it up as a compatible file but gives me this error error 2048:the file is not a movie, any one got any suggestions? Its no good If I cant give evidence to the police if there is an incident

Check the DVR's CD for the player. Some DVR also backup the player to the cd as well.

 

If not, try finding on the dvr's website for more info.

h.264 might not be standard h.264, that might be the prob.

its sold by LJD in the uk its called a colossus,there is nothing on the cd apart from the manual.

Try using Winamp. It is supposed to be compatible with h.264 video files. Or else try to update your quicktime Player.

i have quicktime 7.03 but did not work, will try winamp now

Winamp should have worked. Most likely a problem with the file.

OK, so I just got the H.264 player directly from the manufacturer (vendoma, Hikvision).

 

This should work...and if not well the file is corrupt.

I knew once I looked at it. A lot of companies OEM that DVR and put their names on it. But, the origianl Manufacture is Hikvision/Vendoma.

yes i have several types of software which will run on them cards and yes you have to have the h.264 player which is from hikvision, Ljd now stock them and they are on the hikvision software!!
