CCTV vs. Wireless Surveillance with a mac computer

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I've been searching for a wireless surveillance system to use with my mac but I'm not having much luck getting all the features I want so now I'm looking into cctv. The purpose is to monitor my father (who has dementia) and his caregivers while we're away.

Let me tell you the features I need;

1. wide view angle (130 degrees plus)

2. voice/sound

3. motion detection

4. recording/cloud recording

5. multiple cameras view on screen

6. Night vision

7. Mac user

8. remote viewing

9. 5-6 cameras

10. under $1000

My concern is all the wiring with cctv. I'm not all that great with computers and I find the wireless systems are really easy to set up. I wouldn't even know where to begin with a wired system. Maybe I would have to hire someone to come set it up for me in which case I need to know what's a good system that's user friendly and not too difficult to master.

Thank you in advance for your help

Have a look at the AVN812 type of IP camera from AVTECH, it's wireless so no wiring apart from power, has push/motion alerts sent direct to your apple/android device. it and it works fine on my macbook. It saves around 4 5 second videos on board and I have mine set to upload all motion videos to FTP/cloud.
