Problems seeing IP Cameras!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, i have come into possession of some old Vantage IP Cameras,

I have managed to connect power and network cable and can see the camera via a web browser, but cannot get a picture, i am not sure if i am missing a video encoder or something as i thought i should be able to see it via a browser? I can go to the camera setup up page etc, it asks for a 'add-on' to be installed - nvEncoderMedia.dll from 'Content Appliance Networks Limited', I allow this, then it just shows a blank screen. If anyone has any ideas i would be very grateful to try any of your suggestions!

Check your security settings and pop-up blockers. Lots of cameras have plugins that need to be loaded and the browser will prevent that from happening.

I have checked the pop up blockers, disabled them, put the address in safe list etc but nothing! Just a blank screen, am i missing any hardware as i believe these are quite early, perhaps a decoder or something?

Put the IP address in Compatibility Mode in IE and try it again. Many cameras stop working with IE after some senseless update.
