IP cameras detecting and Fiber Optic

Recommended Posts

Hello to all of you

I have some troubles with my IP cameras.

It's a system with 6 cameras ; and the nvr could not detect more than 4 cameras. The 2 others were a bit far from NVR (nearlly 200m). Then I've used FIBER OPTIC cable; the NVR happen to detect 5 cameras and the 6th is not detected yet.I'm a bit confused and stuck.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with the Installation.

NOTA: There are 4 speed domes and 2 fixed cameras.

I would make sure first of all that there's nothing wrong on the Physical layer.

Basically make sure that either the cable the last camera is connected to the network isn't faulty.

Hello sir

All the cameras are good.

Please what do you mean, by "Physical layer".

I've launched detecting process many times, but I don't allways detect all the 6 cameras and I don't understand what happens.Right now I get only 5 cameras.

Best regards.

What type of fiber are you using? Single mode or multimode?

Did you use pre terminated fiber or did you term it on your own.

How are you converting the fiber to ethernet?

Make sure all of your cables are good.

What are you connecting the cameras to? A PoE switch? Make sure that all cameras are connected to PoE ports on the switch.

Hello, thanks for your reply

The connections are made by another technician,he told me the fiber is Multimode type.He used Fiber-RJ45 converters for both side (ie connecting the camera and the main switch).

Best regards
