Hikvision 2032-I PAL or NTSC?

They write:

PAL 50Hz: 20fps (2048 × 1536), 25fps (1920 × 1080), 25fps (1280 × 720)

NTSC 60Hz: 20fps (2048 × 1536), 30fps (1920 × 1080), 30fps (1280 × 720)

 

Hence, if I want as many hi-res-frames as possible, should I choose the NTSC model over the PAL?

I think the concept of the NTSC/PAL is to make the frame rate compatible with the flicker from light bulbs. The idea being that if you chose NTSC outside the U.S. where 50hz is common for electricity, and you set the frame rate at 30fps, you potentially could have issues indoors where your lighting pulses at a different frequency than the frame rate. I have not tried to see what happens because it's not important to me, but that's the theory.

Can you not change it in the software in the camera 50 or 60hz? you can on mine.

Yes, you change it in the Image settings, Video Adjustment, Video Standard. It's not separate firmware like with Dahua.
