Using an iPod as a video input in place of a camera??

Recommended Posts

I recently installed a 4 channel QSee 4 channel security system (model QT534-4E4-5) at my wife's dance studio. There is a camera in each of the three studios with a TV in the reception area for moms /dads to watch class. The screen is split into four quadrants and we currently don't need the 4th camera, so the last quadrant is blank. My wife had the idea to use the 4th quadrant of the screen to run a slide show of previous dance performances, pictures of classes, etc. I am trying to think of a way to do this. I have an iPod touch that I could dedicate to this and wondered if I got an iPod to male RCA video adapter and then an RCA female to BNC adapter if this would work to connect the ipod's to the security system as though it were a 4th camera. Anyone tried this or have any suggestions on how to make it work?

Thanks,

Bryce

Yep, that's exactly how you can get it to work on a analog system.

Just connect the rca to a test monitor to make sure the ipod works first.
