securitymonster 0 Posted February 16, 2006 should be ok, but why is it also playing MP3's all the time? What program will you be using to play audio? Is it stable? I knows WMP isn't stable...
200mph 0 Posted February 16, 2006 Hi All (Newbie) GRAPHICS CARD: 256MB GeCube Radeon X1600XT DDR3 Dal My 1240x16 geovision runs great on 3 systems with Nvidia 4800-5900 cards. It will not run in DSP mode with my Radeon X1300 Pro running on a Pentium D 930(dual core). Without DSP overlay the image will be all jagged, blocky and interlaced looking. I would make sure geovsion supports the X1600XT in DSP overlay mode as your using the same drivers as the x1300. Otherwise the image will look like crap. dsr_80 0 Posted February 16, 2006 Sorry not MP3, it will be only for Internet Radio... Gonna connect the soundcard to the store's speakers! (through an amp) So its CCTV, and store music at the same time.... Dal
dsr_80 0 Posted February 17, 2006 DSP? Whats DSP? Which Graphics Card do I get then?
Jasper 0 Posted February 17, 2006 DSP - A DSP is a microprocessor designed to work with analog signals such as video or audio that have been digitally encoded. The DSP is an RCA output on the 1240 cards that allow you to connect to an external CCTV monitor or TV. Gives you better quality display and allows you to display only the security cameras without the software showing up on the screen like you see on the DVR screen. It is a nice feature that comes with that card.

Jasper 0 Posted February 18, 2006 You own that card. You should know better than that. The DSP is on the back of the GeoVison card, not on the back of the video card. Lost in Translation maybe
cam2 0 Posted February 18, 2006 DSP out is on the geo card, DSP overlay is on the software.
200mph 0 Posted February 19, 2006 You own that card. You should know better than that. The DSP is on the back of the GeoVison card, not on the back of the video card. Lost in Translation maybe I think you were talking about the RCA output jack. My original post in this thread was about DSP overlay. It's mostly software based digital signal processing but the geovision software calls on the graphic card to handle certain functions and process the data and needs a compatible graphics card to work. The nvidia cards work fine. The older radeon cards work fine but some of the higher end X1300 to X1900 cards are having problems. Geovision needs to rewrite some code to get it to work on some of the new cards.
