radzer0 0 Posted February 20, 2015 Does anybody know of anything to make the existing mic work? I have a high end mic installed already and my new NVR which says audio in is too stupid to even record from that port. Apparently you must pay out the nose for a super crazy high end for that to work. Anybody got any ideas? Maybe some kinda adapter box that makes it think it has a camera hooked up with audio? Securame 0 Posted February 20, 2015 A NVR does not encode the video; the camera does. So if you want to record a video stream with audio, you need a camera with audio input, and you need to connect the mic to the audio input on the camera, not on the NVR.
