HikVision Playback failure

Recommended Posts

I'm having a problem with HikVision DS-7816HE-E1/M Playback. It won't work on my computer but it works on other computer. LiveView is OK, only playback is not working.

I've updated the firmware, uninstalled webcomponents.exe plugin reinstaled it many times and it won't work.... When I try to play a video it says Playback Failed.

I'm sure it is recording, because it works on other computer.

Can somebody help me please?

I think there are leftover files/registry while uninstalling and it may be affecting the software. but I don't know where to find them...

Tks!!

I take it you are trying to use the playback through the web browser? If so have you tried a different browser? If its working on another computer it would suggest its not a firmware issue.. Try using IE if you are not already, and if thats not working I would suggest clearing your cache and resetting IE to default. When you install the plug-in make sure the browser is closed.

Also have you tried using the IVMS 4200 Software? its a much better way to control your devices that the web interface and version v2.03.00.05 is really nice.

Hi Jimmy.

I've tried all of this and none worked out.

I just want to playback in the browser instead of downloading the file first.

I'll give a try to IVMS

Is there a way to install only the playback module for the iVMS? I installed it on my computer and it installed a bunch of other services that I don't need...

Tks.

On installation you get to pick what to install. Pick just iVMS-4200 client.

Found the answer. Turns out the Online Shield in my AVG antivirus was blocking it. To anyone having similar problems, try messing with your antivirus.
