Dahua IPC-HDW4300C IR question

Recommended Posts

I have a question regarding the IR on these cameras. This morning, when it was dark, I noticed that the IR light was not on. It was late last night. I haven't really had a time to troubleshoot it but it is my understanding that the IR on these things are controlled by the camera itself and not by software. I think I read somewhere that the IR turns on and off automatically and there is no way to control this. Is this correct?

Hi There

you can check the setting on the camera to make sure DAY/NIGHT is on Auto, you will need to log into the cam via the IP address, see pic attached

The older Dahuas, like the 3300 and 2100, had no direct IR control. IR was turned on and off by the sensor on the IR board; it didn't matter if the software was even running.

I believe the 4300 series is controlled by firmware, but it's been a while since I tested it.
