Problems with " Plug n' Play " setup

Recommended Posts

Problem with IP camera i cannot figure out.

i have 4 Hikvision POE 2mp IP camera's hooked up to a Hikvision NVR.

set up is only " plug n' play ", no cable for internet connected.

They were all working until about a week ago, and now three work but one.

I can see it working in single screen but not in multi-screen.

It says " no link "

things that i have tried:

1. i have tried to switch the Ethernet cables around but, it seems like that particular camera will not work in multi-screen.

2. reset the system to default settings

3. tried different resolutions

4. tried power cycling

5. bought a new camera, still no go, it still shows " no link ", had even done steps 2-4 with the new camera

6. swapped the camera to one that is working and still nothing.

It almost seems like the nvr will not accept any other camera's but those three.

please help.

and yes i am new to all this

Hi

Not had this problem with the 2mp cameras, but did have it last week with 4MP. Assuming your using UK spec NVR ensure you have the latest firmware from hikvision europe.

If you apply the firmware it resolved my issues.

Cheers

If you had not bought from local authorised distributor but from online parallel importers, it's not advisable to ever upgrade your firmware.

Those are mostly china set that are meant for local use, the supplier had hack the cameras to upload them with international firmware.

Upgrading the equipment firmware will either brick it or render it to support only Chinese language interface.

So the firmware on the camera's and the nvr have to be updated?

They do, Bob.

But as Daryl says make sure your using genuine UK spec stuff. If its off ebay etc.. It probably isnt.
