Adding camera to cisco wireless network

I have an install where I need to get an IP camera on a wireless network. This is only a single camera and I have power where I am mounting the camera. I have a POE injector for power and It looks like I need something like a netgear extender to grab the wireless signal. I am not sure how there network is setup but the IT guy will help me next week. Does anyone know if other than cisco equipment will work with their wireless access points or do you think I have to go with their overpriced stuff.
