humanis 0 Posted August 27, 2016 I am shopping for a new camera system for my retail store. I want a camera placed above the cash register so I can see what my cashiers are typing into the register to ensure they aren't giving discounts and free items to their friends and family. I found a couple systems on newegg. But I don't see many reviews on them there. Are there any systems that you recommend? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA46G2KR1339 And this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=81-183-073 Price is anything below $2500. I want something that works and works correctly. It also needs to have smartphone connectivity and user friendly interface. I need at least 4 cameras included but expandable to at least 6 or 8. humanis 0 Posted August 27, 2016 Would I be better off building a system from scratch or buying a premade kit? I am very good with computers and I would be installing all software and hardware myself
humanis 0 Posted August 27, 2016 Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated. I'm not 100% certain if this is the correct subthread to post this question or not.
bobarn 0 Posted August 28, 2016 Hi, Why bother building one yourself unless you need more dramas in your life?. I have a nephew who has a degree in computer science whatever that is and he was clueless when I asked him to see if he could sort out some problems I had with my el cheapo cctv system. I ended up sorting out the problem myself (faulty power adaptor). CCTV is becoming cheaper by the day and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to set one up especially if you are handy with computers. Just my experience
humanis 0 Posted August 28, 2016 True true. So CCTV kit it is. I know I want 1080p cameras running on PoE. Any suggestions? A lot of these kits I'm finding have really bad app interfaces so I'm wondering if any of y'all know any brands with halfway decent app support lol
envision 0 Posted August 30, 2016 What are the brands you looked at already? There are some systems can be integrated with cash registers/pos and will display what transactions are going on.
humanis 0 Posted September 1, 2016 What are the brands you looked at already? There are some systems can be integrated with cash registers/pos and will display what transactions are going on. this would be perfect. I would love to find one that integrates the cash register/pos so we can see what our employees are typing into the system. Though we can't use a scanner with our system because we don't have barcodes on all our items. I have just been looking at bestbuy and newegg at whatever has decent reviews. cctvmann 0 Posted September 11, 2016 Can anyone help me out please? hi there can you pm me details of your install requirements, dont just go with a pre boxed kit because the cameras will be cheaper general standard units, if you tell me by pm what you require to see i can give you some guidance on which cameras would be better suited. tomcctv 190 Posted September 11, 2016 Hi. POS is not a problem what type of register do you have. Just having a camera looking at your till will not work unless you are watching all the time. If you can't watch then you have to watch the footage later and that will take hours away from your life. A hybrid unit is the easiest way for you to setup a log POS system Look at a dahua hybrid 8 way and have one of the cameras analog

I cannot seem to find one that is attached to a POS system. I have an old cash register that you find at mom and pop shops. It does not have anything that allows me to plug a camera into it. Which is the reason for wanting to replace it.
