Merlin2000 0 Posted October 9, 2017 I ran across the Axis S2008 which is a 4k NVR. I want to pair it with 4 cameras at the house. Anyone know much about this model? I'm looking for something that I can stream 24/7 from an Android type wall mounted tablet. So as long as the app quality is good, the tablet should work fine. I tried one really cheap NVR, but it broke within a few weeks.
Merlin2000 0 Posted October 10, 2017 Online seems to be around $2230. What's the main difference between the S2008 and Companion NVR for 1/4 the price? https://www.axis.com/za/en/companion/products-and-solutions/axis-companion-recorder-8ch I can't really find any reviews for either system. Do they both run the same iphone apps/software?
tomcctv 190 Posted October 10, 2017 One only runs companion Are you also buying cameras ?
Merlin2000 0 Posted October 10, 2017 I'm looking at two of the Axis 1428 4k cameras. Looks like it should be compatible with Companion. I'm mainly looking for lag-free android/ios based apps so I can place wall tablets. WiFi signal is 100% throughout the house. We have a couple Nest cameras, but the app quality is pretty horrible. Hard to view previous recordings, constant force close, unable to see all cameras in live/real-time. I think I may just need to get the two 1428 cameras, a POE switch, and test out both software platforms locally to see what the app experience is like. I can't find much testing/examples online for the apps.
Merlin2000 0 Posted October 26, 2017 It looks like the S2008 can only handle 1 4k camera feed. Is that correct? What do I buy to handle 4 4k cameras?
