Anyone Use Video Insight? http://demo.videoinsight.net

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have experience with www.Video-Insight.com. I like that they just deal in software and are Houston based but cannot find a review outside of there reference list.

Thanks,

Jeff

Rory, are you deprived of good TV programming there? I thought you lived in a Paradise. Isn't that why they call it Paradise Island? You'd think you were living on one of the French Guyana prison islands.

Um I think PPV is out of the question. We're pretty proud of our web client, no software to install on the client side and all major browsers work well with us. IE, Mozilla, Firefox, Konquer (and I'm assuming all of the KHTML browsers like Apples Safari), Opera, ect....

you'd think right!

yes cable charges a fortune to get HBO etc, Sat is not legal here, so we are in the hole, at this time, unless we have alot of $$.

No Paradise Island isnt what it is made out to be, i live on the east side of Nassau (eastern rd), but Id rather live out west actually, less traffic.

actually, well gambling is illegal, so we cant use the local or online casinos, legally, guns are illegal also, its a wonder though since there are armed robberies every day.

SatTv, well we are like canada in that area, since the new cards came out, well you know what i mean. But yes, no US/CAN sat companies will sell their service down here because the governmenr will not enforce intl copyright laws, there are guys selling ripped DVDs (terrible quality I might add - like downloaded off kazza) in the burger king drive through line! Our local VCR rental chain rents pirated movies which are even worse quality. Until the government enforces copyright laws, we are stuck with what we have. Ofcourse everyone has started to switch to dis net now, as they can still hck the cards, but im legit personally, there are people here that sell it semi legit, in other words they pay in the US and we pay them here for their service to set it up for us, all legal, not the D*s service, just so they can get us some TV. We just cant pay the us/can companies from here. I really dont blame them though, but eventually the government after alot of intl pressure will cave in and go the right way, hopefully before sanctions are imposed!!

Oh yeah, I just found out it is illagal for Bahamians to invest in foreign stocks! Good job I am half British It is supposedly some old colonial law, many of which they have not yet changed, in other words, England changed most of their old laws many many years ago, we still have them.

alot of people have been asking, what if we are on IM and want to use the mic? That is in essence VOIP!? I dont think this new law will last long, it was made by a group of head honchos at the local telco monopoly which is also a government company, they must just want extra $$ in their back pockets, its how things go here, alot of coruption and paying off, and moreso, its who you know, and where they work.

I mean, not using a turning signal is illegal here, but about 99% of Bahamians dont use one, most cars dont have break lights, and about 50-60% of drivers dont have actual licences that they took a test (pay $50 and you get one without a test), then there is car insurance, alot of people simly dont have it (wrote my car off twice, second time the guy didnt have drivers licence, insurance, and it wasnt even his car, and the car was not insured or licenced, thankfully I had fully comprehensive). Gor charged both times, wansnt my fault both times. I drive all day every day and see a traffic cop about once a month. I got attacked with home made axxes and the guys stole my vehicle, they got 17 months in prison, and were out in 8, where the law is 20 years for attempted murder, which is essentially was.

Basically, our legal system and laws, down here, our both outdated, and one big joke!

It pretty much is...it would be kind of hard for them to tell you are using it if you got a number in the US and just set up the equipment behind your router. A packet is a packet is a packet...and I belive some of the US companies offer encryption between you and thier server. Even if it's using an odd port, you could always change it and have someone set up a proxy server for you.

added more above

Most in the government dont have a clue how to use a computer, but its them pressuring the cable company, who is by the way, stealing TV signals from the US stations and not paying, which will give all your info out. See if they do, then the governmenr rubs their back and lets them conitinue doing what they are doing, with TV i mean. Cable Tv here is another major reason the US is pressureing the government to enforce the copyright laws, in fact rumours are going around that they would close down if these laws woukd ever be enforced, as they could not pay what they own to date!

darn, id be stuck with dial up or the government run DSL monopoly!

Basically monopolies are legal here, thatswhat I want to create

Microsoft should have come down here, they could have taken over the world...or did they..

You would buy the cards from us. We don't do any embeded options right now, but we will set up a nice machine with the card and software preloaded, all you would have to do is configure any IP stuff, and plug in the cameras.

The 1000 does do twice the frames then our v240. Our card has a TV out built in. Alot of our advantages are in the software. Our web client doesn't need an active-x plugin which means alot more browsers support it. Our files are fairly portable, since we use the Morgan Codec, most video playback software supports our files without any kind of re-encoding.

Our user interface is alot cleaner (and 2.3 will be even better when we finish with it.) and our techincal support rocks (if I may say so.). If you call techincal support, you will reach myself, Phillip or James and we're in the same office as our coders.
