NVR3216 Power up boot issue

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have NVR3216 NTSC version. All of a sudden my nvr turned off and is not booting back up. The monitor is off, the nvr red led power indicator is on, however the system is not booting up.

I have tried disconnecting the hard drives but it doesn’t do anything. I am not sure what the issue is, how to resolve it, and how to troubleshoot the system.

I have noticed that the cpu fan is not spinning, so I did order a new one on amazon to see if that is the issue.

I would appreciate all the help.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi. Sounds like a power supply problem

does your system have 1 or 2 power supplies plugged in the back ?

And what size is your port supply

is your nvr POE

Roughly 5-6 days ago some botnet started to exploit an NTP vulnerability affecting also this kind of NVR (with one or more default login accounts present). BrickerBot added a payload for it 3 days ago. Chances are that your flash partitions have been wiped.

Hi. Thank you for replying.

My nvr is POE. All the cameras are POE.

Power: I have just one plug going from the adapter to the nvr.

Hi,

The thing is that we don’t have any default login account.

If this is the case, is there anything I may do to test this or fix this?

Thanks.

Hi.

something is badly wrong.

from your pictures you show a 12v 5amp power supply

your POE on 16 cameras ..... that is your problem

wrong power supply

The thing is that this unit has been working for 5 years without issues.

Hi if it’s been fine for 5 years on that power supply then I would say your using a dvr

16 Poe nvr will never run on that power supply

can you post a picture of the back of your unit

I might have been wrong about the type of nvr this is. I meant to say that this is a 16 channel nvr with my cameras connected to my network via poe.
