Hello, I’m new to this site, and am unsure of the jargon, so please bare with me. We acquired an ArmorView 16 Channel DVR, System: NTSC, Model: 8216V, H.264 Video Compression, DC 12v 4A, with 5 wired night vision cameras. There was no hard drive so I bought a Seagate Skyhawk 2TB Internal Surveillance Hard Drive HDD w/ Drive Health Management: 3.5” SATA 6Gb/64MB Cache for DVR NVR Security Camera System. After installing it I turned on the box, I can see all the cameras, as I could without the hdd. So I got into the system op system to format the hdd but nothing happens then I noticed theres no green light on the front of the machine indicating the hdd is running. What am I missing, why cant it format and why wont it record?

Hi. You might find your using the wrong hard drive ..... some older dvrs are restricted to a certain hard drive to use

try using a old WD drive around 1 or 2tb
