Cannot connect my DVR remotely

Hi,

I am at my wits end. I have a camera system that I can view on my laptop when at home but I cannot connect to the system remotely using my mobile android phone. I am using a cheapy H.264 XVR with 4 cameras. When watching on my laptop the picture is clear.

I am hoping someone could help me do the setup from the dvr to the router to the mobile phone. The router is a D-Link DSL G2562DG. I have tried all the suggestions and vids on the internet. 

I am not clued up when it comes to IT matters.
