Camera and housing association

Recommended Posts

Hi all....

Going to get right into the issue.

New neighbours moved in downstairs and linked up with neighbour above me who have damaged my car on more than five occasions (couple I have witnessed) made false allegations I swore at them in the street, mess around with my bins to cause annoyance, made false allegations I go into their garden...

Because of this I put up a camera inside my home facing out of the window, the camera faces my car and my door stairs.

Only the tenant above shares the stairs (stoop) leading to a front door.

Previous housing manager said I can have a camera due to the constant false allegations and criminal damage against me. Now I have a new manager who seems to not like me and is telling me to take it down due to me not getting permission from the community safety lead (don't know who this is)

Tenancy says nothing about this is a breach.

It seems it is one rule for one and one for the other since the people below then installed camera which faces the street and they are allowed to keep them.

There is a long history of bullying against me by these three people which my housing association don't bother to take into account.

I have spoken to ico who also said my camera is fine as it is to prevent crime against myself.

I told the housing officer to get a court order which I will defend and make counter claims against what I feel is favouritism as I am always treated differently.

Is there anything I should watch out for and can they make me remove this legally?

Hi. Sounds like your having a bad time of it and car damage

other tenants and housing association complaints can take months or years to sort but the harassment never ends

life is to short to deal with crap .... why not think about moving instead life could only get better

This is easier to sort rather then getting wrong information

Ask a lawyer to Wright a letter to your housing association about the use of cctv

you will get the right answer then
