Dvr 8 channels no camera connected but it is recording

Hello friends. My dvr channel 1-4 is recording even though not camera is connected. Channel 5-8 is ok and not recording. It starts recording when cameras are plugged in. Is the board faulty? Any suggestion would be much appreciated please. Thanks

Hi. Your post is confusing 

1-4 recording with no cameras connected ???

I think you just have a simple problem and it is drag and drop screen settings 

Using your mouse put 8 camera squares up and then 

put mouse over camera 5 hold left mouse button and drag 5 to 1  ……. 6 to 2 ….. 7 to 3 and the 8 to 4 

this then puts your cameras back in order

Sorry if I did not give a clear explanation.

Channels 1-4, currently no cameras are plugged and it should have displayed "Video Loss" on monitor instead of recording.

It's like as if the Channels 1-4 are locked to recording only.

When I plugged a camera in any of the ports (1-4), there is no display and it keeps showing R on my monitor meaning Recording.

Could it be a faulty motherboard?
