Q-See 8516 with other brand cameras

I have a q-see NVR model 8516.  I am trying to use the 8 port POE switch that is built into the NVR, but with my amcrest camera I can't seem to make it work.  I am not sure if there is a specific port or something that I need to use.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks

Hi. It depends on the spec of your amcrest

is it listed as poe.    Is it a h265 camera as a lot of new cameras are factory set to h265 in which case you will need to connect it to your network first and go into menu and reset to h264
