Dantech poe unit, Battery back up

Recommended Posts

Hello, i was wondering would this be suitable for a cctv system to give me battery back up if the power failed.

https://www.hunters-wholesalers.co.uk/dantech-da1010-batt-10ah-vrla-yuasa-battery-pack-p-100303.html

it has the following :
Integrated 5-Port Gigabit network switch for 10/100/1000Mbs
PoE+ power injector with 4 load output ports
30W of load power availability per port, to IEEE 802.3:2012
Mode B (Delivers power over spare pairs on 10/100 networks only)
10Ah VRLA Yuasa Battery Pack

The cameras i would be using are the hikvision 8mp colorVU
power PoE: 802.3af, 36 V to 57 V, 0.18 A to 0.11 A, max. 6.5 W

Also If you look at the data sheet in the above link it states that if i had an output load of 50w it would give me power for 9.5 hours with the 10ah battery
I am wondering would this be correct, it seems to be a lot longer than other models of power supply units.

Thank you

Hi. It depends on your other equipment if it’s worth it

battery Poe backup is ok but only if rest of equipment is protected no point cameras on and recording not

are you running pc or nvr

Ok so why not just backup nvr ? If it is Poe

what would you suggest buying to back up the nvr?

We use these … link below

problem using separate supplies one Poe for cameras and one to power nvr or pc …. It can take a long time for startup plus nothing for router for alerts

these are good …. Just plug Poe nvr into it …. Less to fail plus you can power your router
