rickandal55 0 Posted April 3, 2022 i'm currently running a balun/cat5 system to a DVR. However the DVR is failing and I need to purchase a replacement. The question is; can I use a NVR POE system but connect to the cameras via baluns? So baluns on one end and straight POE on the other?? Thanks in advance. Two types of technology also there is no point changing dvr and cameras to run a nvr new DVRs now match resolution of a IP system so I would recommend you just buy a new dvr and look for a 5 in1 dvr with resolution of 5mp ….. use your existing cameras and update when needed Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
