WDR with manual board lens?

Recommended Posts

Isn't it a contradiction to have a WDR camera but use it with a standard lens without auto-iris?

Specifically, I'm referring to this KT&C INdoor WDR dome:

It comes standard with the 3.6mm board lens (FOV is perfect for my application actually) with the vari-focal are optional.

Anyone tried something similar before? How much am I losing by cheaping out on the $60 lens upgrade? It will be watching a service counter with a glass (outdoor) background.

Watch the web store links.

Shouldn't be any troubles with a fixed lens, WDR happens after the imager.
