Loosing video at night

Recommended Posts

Loosing video on the outdoor vandal proof camera. Video is perfect during daytime, no issues but come around evening (when it starts to become dark), the video starts to go in and out. Anybody know what is causing this.

spec on the camera

1/3" Sony Super HAD color CCD with 410K pixel

Ultra High Resolution of 540TV lines

Day & Night capability for 24/7 surveillance

Removed noise & ghosting effect with SDNR

Min. illumination of 0.3 Lux @ F1.2 (Normal color mode), 0.002 Lux @ F1.2 (Sens-up)

Veri-focal (3.8mm ~ 9.5mm) lens with auto iris

Privacy image masking with free position : 4 zones

Strong Back light compensation

Motion Detection

OSD (On Screen Display) / Service Video Output

S/N ratio of 50dB

24V AC / 12V DC compatible

Thank you

Hi!

2 things you can check:

1. Is your power supply large enough for the extra load when IR is in use?

2. You maybe have a adjustment to your signal strength, and when it is a bit to high or low it can make the signal walk in and out!

First thing I would check is your power supply. When using IR cameras, your draw on amps are higher at night due to the IR kicking in. If you don't have a big enough power supply to handle the load, it can fade the picture in and out and eventually burn up your power supply.

I recommend a 1.5amp power supply depending on the camera and how many LED'S you have. Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. Thanks

IR? Am I missing something? Check iris settings, may have to adjust the iris pot in the evening or with a #5 welding lens to correct.
