    Help finding a camera please

to be honest desktop mount is just how i have described a camera which needs to be able to be mounted (and video used) from that position, sorry about the bad comms no problem chap its a bit of a difficult one which is why i posted it, as faras positioning thats fine becuase your limited by the view of the glass so having it not being able to go "down" is not an issue, pretty much all the ip ptz support this. including some older units. pia grin!

sorry guys i don't think you quite get where im coming from. its a lot easier to covert mount a ptz if i can sit it in a parcel shelf of a car rather than having to hang it from a ceiling, with this in mind the cameras software needs to support flipping the image from ceiling mount to desktop. I can find any analoge cameras which have this software option.

no problem here is some clarification, its to be used in the back of a van for surveillance, needs to have the video option "desktop mount" this is a option common in most ip ptz cameras but not in standard analogue which is what's required. This means it is required to be mounted sitting on something rather than hanging from. As far as a Budget - cheaper end of the market! grin, Best regards, Monty Bravo
  4. Right, Mobotix NVR software is good, however it is not designed for a novice user. The layout and gui is behind the times but once you get familiar with it its powerfull enough. It also supports a range of other manufactures cameras and is free, even if just used on non ptz cameras. The mobotix cameras as good if used for the right situation, even with the colour only versions of the m22 you can get good night images without to much motion blur (with the right lighting of course) However, you can reduce motion blur on mobotix cameras but I dont rate them for high speed environments. the same is true in my experience for arcount cameras. Personally i would recommend the avigilon package as its better software with excellent cameras which are plug and play. they also work well under difficult lighting. I have found motion blur to be much better than other makes of mega cameras. Mobotix can very much be fit for purpose, it depends on what that purpose is, Cheers, Monty Bravo
  5. Thank you for the input just thought i would update saying a hp with 512meg card , 2 gig duel core and 4 gig ram on vista home preimum (yes i know its for a surv setting so im using a normal laptop) it works excellent, on vista you need to disable user account control (important otherwise the administrator program does not work ) Using 2 x ns202e ptz, all good stuff Monty Bravo
