Camera Compatibility for HIKVISION Turbo HD DVR
tomcctv replied to RRH's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Hi. 7200 unit is SDI only is your 720p sdi or tvi. Hikvision recorders are a mine field.... everyone else make multi format recorders and hik deside to make sdi only on the 7200 series but why display for a few seconds then off -
I know what camera it is ..... but answer will always be the same .... you can’t control the lens from your ptz control
-
Is this a secondhand unit ??? its not new with setup joystick at camera it is just a standard p400 camera and it has no zoom control via ptz settings only electronic/ lens setup
-
Hi the p400 is a good camera the camera has a motorised lens not to be mistaken for a zoom lens on your recorder (tvi) you will see coax control which allows you into the camera menu to do settings you will not have ptz control for lens on either recorder or app

NTP on hikvision DC2032
tomcctv replied to rak313's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
there are many camera that do NTP but in the ops case having ip cameras stream to a recorder it is common practice to switch off camera time .... and the most important time is what the recording device is using and displaying of footage -
How many days are you looking at storing 1 hard drive only for that recorder problem is only 1 data connection. 1 sata port cants be split It would just mirror the first drive plus you would pop your recorder as power unit would not be good enough

installing cameras on the garage
tomcctv replied to jreid1492's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. I would try powerline plug with a 4 way poe switch at garage should have no problems at all. And a good cheap solution powerline are cheap and always a good idea to have a set at home. I would buy a set .... plug one into your router and other in your garage.... then switch WiFi off on a laptop and connect it to the powerline in garage and see if connects and allows you to watch something like a YouTube video ... if does your good to go for around $40 one thing I would say is don’t use 4k cameras at your garage end .... either lower your res from 4k to 4mp if already have the cameras or buy the lorex 4mp for that area ..... h265 will be good for 4x 4mp over powerline. Netgear are good also they do a 4way poe switch for around $40 -
Hi. It is not a good idea but it all depends we’re you are located if your located were you have all weather seasons .... then no because the camera will also need heat ......most outdoor ptz cameras have a heat module which is needed to stop camera fogging up with different temperatures if like Australia or Arizona then it would be ok
