lens Retrofit lens to cctv camera to reduce the FOV?
tomcctv replied to NewellTech's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Once a lens has been remover and replaced most of the time it gives problems. white out and been discussed lots of times. We had a post about 4 years ago and the solution I used to use might help you. If you get a black marker pen and start to mark 1 led at a time ..... don’t mark it till full black just give the leds one swip of the marker pen ..... it does take time but you will start to see a big difference if still a bit bright just give the same leds another swip of the black marker. i would start with outer led ring ...left side. some will say just use electrical tape but that blocks the led working ..... black marker just reduces the intensity -

tomcctv replied to ranghar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Can you give a little more info.. what country are you in ? can you see on the footage when image went gray and what is the time line from good to bad. Ost systems are automatic on boot up and switch to what ever the camera is ....there are not many cameras on the market that did a region select -

Started a cloud nvr platform, wanting to get some help testing (free accounts, not charging)
tomcctv replied to Matthew Davis's topic in Introductions
Hi. Can I ask why your terms and conditions are not available when click on them ? also some misleading information on your site. NVR requires a pc 24/7 .... that is not the case. what is free .... is it just the subscription? $20 a month for 1 camera domestic 4 camera domestic $960 a year cloud based system is a lot more vulnerable than a nvr ..... phone lines / cable line cut ..... no footage and it does not have to be cut at the home ..... exchange/ distrubution boxes cloud storage should be sold as a second backup not as main recording -

Hi. You will get a few days from that power pack ....... But if you used your car every day your power pack would charge up if always connected to car charger. dash cams are a mindfield. .... I while ago I did a post on them we used to install vicovation Marcus 5 duel camera systems ...... Not cheap $400 lasted 13 months just as warranty ran out......did not just happen to one but most of them. you have cheap and expensive dash cams..but.... Go for middle price . We found a company after a few weeks to replace the Marcus 5s and are happy with them. not all cameras will do what you need ..... Once a car is parked up the camera will not record till car gets a hit. You need something that will record on motion once car is parked. we use blackvue....... There not cheap ... There not expensive but are one of the best dash cams on the market. your not wasting money as not just for your car parked but also for everyday use. you can also watch the blackvue from anywere and record to your PC as well as car SD. customer of ours had one fitted last August to his Ford Focus RS ...... He took his car in for a service ........ As soon as they walked upto his car while parked in the service area it sent the live recording to his mobile. So he kept watching ........car driven onto ramp bonnet lift up guy do some oil change and little bits and then back off the ramp and back into service bay car park. It took 28 minutes No more alerts till 4 hours later when he got a call from service department saying car was ready and total cost was $580. Customer thought that's expensive so on the phone the customer asked the service guy to have a look at another problem he had with the front of his car and would the service guy stay on the phone while he went to look ..... Service guy walks infront of car ..... Camera sends live view back to customer......... Customer then says to service guy give me a wave I can see you on my dash cam ....... Service guy put phone down on him. service cost nothing when customer took footage when collecting his car. its not just a dash cam it's a full CCTV system https://www.blackvue.com/dr900s-1ch/?page_id=90121 -

That's not nice...... The code given is the right one you might of locked out password change with doing more than 10 attempts so you will need to do it with your serial number you need to download SPD2 pack to generate the code. I could do it for you ....... But politeness costs nothing.... You can do yourself with info provided. Serial number is on bottom of recorder ..... Or go into wizard and scan SN barcode. -

These are your typed words .............what type of streams these might be. and I did say you might be embarrassed to the answer..........but hay we are all here to learn ........ Flir bought 100% of lorex for $59.mil in 2012 it also included Digimerge ..not association..... To get into the home market. It did not work for them so they sold lorex and its head office in Canada to dahua who before that were OEM to lorex only. Lorex was sold in 2017 for only half of what flir paid for it. Flir has no association at all with lorex That is because you don't understand ports vs streams ....... Auto or fixed iris RTSP vs ONVIF/ h264 vs h265....... Or something as simple as ..... Your setup is not good enough to run 4K cameras...... And that is what this post is all about -
Hi. I looked also on Amazon ...... They have none listed without wifi. http://www.wiseupshop.com/wiseup-8gb-720p-hd-indoor-wifi-network-spy-camera-led-lamp-bulb.html

Hi. It would need to be something covert. You don't want her seeing it and walking away with it. for your needs I would not go for anything complicated and I would also stay away from anything that uses the Internet as it is your bedroom. something like this is ideal for you and can be moved about in seconds. no extra wires ..... No having to connect to Internet and install is just remove a normal light bulb and in stall cam light bulb. your light switch always needs to be in the ON position.......and you switch light on and off with the remote control which is supplied with the bulb. so it's a full working normal light it have movement detection see in total darkness with built in IR all recordings sent to onboard SD card also records full audio all you have to do is press SET on remote control when you leave your room. fit to ceiling light or bedside light.

RTSP and ONVIF are streams ........ And if your saying that your 4K camera only does RTSP ....... Let's leave it as that......... I don't think dahua would produce a camera that can't be used on most NVRs which on ONVIF. but we will leave it to what you believe And again in a earlier post .......that camera DOES NOT have a auto iris. It is a fixed iris. Well again if you think that 554 35000 35001 are streams .... Then nothing else can be said ...........but I can say 99.9% of people reading this post will agree with me that they are NETWORK PORTS. 90% of standalone NVRs are Linux based so that's not a problem.......but I will worn you that you have to run that camera ONVIF.....it's the protocol It is only a ONVIF viewer. A NVR program it will run alongside........ Just like the way your using zoneminder........ No point you trying dahua beta then is there. There is no secret. It's just you can't enter full menu. flir have had nothing to do with lorex for a long time. Lorex is now a China company. Something else you can't get right -

For the rest of the thread readers.........how have I been racist ....... And I take offence to that. You are out of order at this point. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's take a look at your last post . I have done in a few posts ..... But again ONVIF......... Will give you full control/ better stream / allow all data. rtsp is basic stream basic data you have no control You might not like this answer .........Infact you should be embarrassed asking it they are ports not streams. can I ask why you bought a 4K camera and your happy with only having 4mp at 12fps ...... You can't use colour day and night as you can't use the software for the colour night. this might be better advice for you ........buy 4mp standard cameras ......because that's what you have ended up with...... Paying for 4K with having no software to run them at that resolution i dont know why I am continuing to help you .....with your remarks throughout this post. When all I have done is give you advice but you might want to install this and learn it ...........its new but the guys are working on it all the time ....... It's a ONVIF program for Linux https://flathub.org/apps/details/net.meijn.onvifviewer -
Why are you putting password into username ?? user name is ........ admin password is ..........888888 or your temp one 710344 but that code is old .......so follow these instructions and you will get back into your system. first switch off your recorder for 20 minutes. then switch it back on and enter login like this user name ........ admin password ........ 770060 once into your menu create a new password before you do anything else ....... You can't use 770060 after today it's only a temp code.

Is it. And how did you come to that conclusion? This is going to be good..................why can your camera not automatically adapt. And what software are you running it on ? and can I point out THAT your last image is nowhere like 4mp image. I have seen better 1mp images than that. It will not pic up a plate -

What criticism. And what have I said bad about Linux. Lets start with RTSP stream. It is the lowest and worst for cctv hence onvif.... it gives control of camera it allows full stream and commands...... you can disagree all day long ...... but it’s the best option Linux...... nothing wrong with it .....it is just not good for communicating with your camera. ..... that is not criticism it’s a fact same with zoneminder..... it’s not good enough to run your camera at it’s full performance mots not the cameras fault and it’s not my fault. But I think I have explained to you what the problem is and given you enough advice to get your camera running at a better level on Linux and zoneminder...... something you could not do without the advice...... but let’s call advice criticism.... you seem happy that way. -
How is the camera setup ... modem who is isp how long does it stay on line before you need to reboot

So how did you come to that conclusion so your saying it’s my fault dahua camera does not like Linux my only point is it won’t work on Linux at its full capacity as you have found out But it does ...... but you can’t run h265 or understand it its not about bitrate..... it’s half the compression more data What are you going on about .....??? i give you help and I am in the wrong —————————————————- i see from your other posts you have give others a hard time while giving you advice. your problem is like this post .... blame the equipment instead of learning from your mistakes. You can go back over my posts from years ago. You will see we bought from dahua even before they called them self’s dahua ... I think on this forum there are only another two members with access to there ftp site and we have also used the cameras in your post hence why I know the back door to settings. There is a Linux beta on the ftp site soon to be released -

Which is what I said in first post ....... it’s not the camera it’s the equipment no point you going h264h on zoneminder ...... that camera is h265 h264h and h264+ and h265 are the same but different code. so your best going into camera settings and switching to h264 and then lower your resolution down to 2mp with FPS at 15. This will be the best settings for zoneminder and better for night image. but you will not get it to run 100% on zoneminder and Linux -

Hi. You can’t run and get best image while using RTSP and you camera 100% has the latest onvif and you need to be using it to set image quality..... you can’t with RTSP what resolution are you running the camera and are you h264 or 5 its nothing wrong with the camera ....it’s not a comparable setup -

No .... if you come on with camera awful then there has to be a reason. calibrating is done on the camera ... it’s done while installing does zoneminder do 4k yet ? does it do h265 ? RTSP ..... I think you will find onvif is the best way explain why you should defend h264 ? Are you using 4k Why ..... because you don’t like to hear that your cameras are not compatible with what you using with them. So your expecting 8mp/4k on equipment that can’t get you there You will need to load software for cam onto pc then go into settings .....being on zoneminder I would also drop resolution down to 4mp .... not 8. Then go into camera zoom and move far out then in and then set it to distance needed then click save -

Well that’s your problem........RTSP stream. Why are you messing around with VCL also no camera functions with zoneminder also running at wrong compression. its easy to blame the product....than to set it up right. and to give you a hint on not setup your images are nothing like 2mp never mind 8mp
