  1. Ok I don’t think your coffee is strong enough. how does your tv get its tv programmes ......if it’s digital ..... it’s digital input..... your dvr is analog only. if say you had old analog tv equipment. How did you connect a vcr ..... aerial would of gone to vcr instead of tv what is is the point of trying to explain to you that you can’t you don’t have a decoder in your dvr ......you can’t Match audio to footage (as there two different codex but we all look forward to how you do the impossible
  2. Hi. First go and make a nice coffee and sit down and have another think. A few points. digital back to analog for dvr input? does your tv have signal output .... TVs have never had them how many FPS is your tv signal and what is the max of your dvr how will you get the audio from digital to dvr and still have them sink so your answer after your coffee should be. ....... is we’re is the bin. But it if you want to record on your digital tv there is a very simple way and the option is on 90% of digital TVs if your tv remote control has a record button on it which most do now and have for past 5 years.........all you need to do is place a usb stick in one of the TVs usb slots......switch tv off and back on and it will assign stick as recorder storage ......then you just press the record button on remote to record

  4. Hi. Has the camera worked and this is something that’s just started ? but if you have changed camera and baluns and it does the same then it’s a cable or power problem. How many pair have you used for video ? how many pair for power? what is the cable length ? also another quick test ...... can you move the faulty cam bnc on your recorder to another channel and see if camer has the same fault on another channel

    Remote access software

Yes there are a few apps but if you set them up from the cloud option on the app you will have problems. i have sent you a link ..... and this is how you set it up. open app ........ don’t click on cloud .....instead click on local login at the bottom left corner........new screen pops up.......click the +sign in top right then add your details then save. To watch and playback your system .....open app click local login and you will see all your cameras. And you can use this for anywhere it’s not just local

Hi. It is a mine field ... that’s the problem with online systems and prices are all over the place. a 4 way nvr recorder with 4 x 5mp cameras is £300 cheaper than your quote and is uk based and uk cloud service
  7. Hi. Yes powerline will work and you won’t have any problems to powe your camera all you need is a poe injector at camera end .... there around £15

  10. Hi. Lee. Yes there is an easy way ..... You can use powerline plugs...... No cables needed you will need to power your cameras local (at the garage) but these will do the job for you. https://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/networking/powerline/PLP1000.aspx

    How do I choose ?

2mp starlight cameras retail uk at £52 and it's been like that for 8 months and there going cheaper as we are upto 5 or 8mp yes i said ip ......but for 4 cameras there is also the run costs ........PC and NAS is not cost effective for a home user .......cost to run Poe switch and PC .....then you have more costs in hard drives than a h265 NVR ..... It's just not worth the cost for the number of cameras. but I don't understand were this post is going ......op did state old age ......something easy .............building a local network I would not recommend

    How do I choose ?

Well £550 for 4 X 2mp starlight cameras says you bought from the wrong place. and another £236 for a NAS ........ NVR 5mp recording and 2tb of storage and Poe is only £120. again NVR is plug and play nothing like going switch network or NAS

    How do I choose ?

If I was quoted a 4k system I expect to get one ..... 4k recorder with 4mp camera does not make 4k. line cross and the likes is not something you would need. £800 is a lot of money for a 4way in a bungalow and also because you are installing for family to keep a eye on you I would also have installed audio at your front door..... uk is full of bogus callers the last few months can a member of your family fit it for you.... ip is plug and play also please stay away from hikvision it is not suitable for your needs
  15. Hi. The problem is knowing who makes your camera Alibi could be anyone. How do you have camera connected and how are you controlling it on power down and back up again does it go into calibration mode ......... cam goes up down round and focuses on the floor .........you are best watching you monitor while it does this. also have you removed the protective film from the front on the lens when you unpacked it

  21. Hi. 4k main compression is h265 .... half of what h264 is so it’s not a problem on 4 or more but there is a big problem if it’s not h265 from start to end.. like your zoneminder it will be h265 at camera but once it gets to your pc it will re compress to h264 as pc would not be h265 compression so will max out you cpu if running 4. Nothing stopping you from lowering the resolution down to 4 mp tho. a NVR allows h265 from start to Finnish we’re a pc does not if no h265 compression
  22. Ok so your just looking for a camera that can see a licence plate. Not capture. Using zoneminder you only need something like the dahua starlight 4mp going 4k is going to use a lot of pc processing power and with audio.
  23. Lorex is dahua it is 100% owned by dahua. lorex plate cameras have been designed by one of the best in the market flir. You only need to do a search on the forum from aliexpress and hikvision gray market....... some people leaned from it some wasted money ..... hikvision even put out a news letter..... they don’t sell or any authorised sell on aliexpress people who copy hikvision can lie at anytime are you just looking for a camera that can see licence plates or licence plate capture ?
  24. Hi. Sanyo does not exist anymore you won’t find there cameras.. gray market are not made by hikvision there a copy ... have you looked at the dahua lorex camera ?
  25. Hi. Buying from eliexpress you will be buying a gray market .... you get no support from hik. sanyo was one of the best for licence plates 2500 was a good camera. if your in the USA take a look at lorex licence plate cameras ..... comes with all the software you need to create a data base ... licence plate and colour
