Honeywell HRDE 4x4 Application
tomcctv replied to yvesbell's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Then why do you not understand it will not run. It won't run on the 2008 HRDP ....what makes you think HRDE from 2003 will work. And its proprietary software .....so what happends if you need to to use footage ? But you as a network tech should know this .......or at least explain it to your customer better. And you keep saying camera ......it's a dvr. You can pick up a 960h dvr for next to nothing that will still run your old cameras but give you the Windows 10 option. And if your charging your customer ......do the right thing -
Honeywell HRDE 4x4 Application
tomcctv replied to yvesbell's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
But it’s the right answer Do you know what not supported by windows means ? Yes it’s an easy answer as I worked for VCL for years. Your dvr was made by vcl and has Honeywell name on it because Honeywell took over vcl the same time as your 15 year old cif recorder. 360x240 resolution is a wasted of time . But the easy answer .... the cd will not load on your windows 10 the licence expired 8 years ago and there is nothing you can do about that. -

Advice on new IP Based CCTV System
tomcctv replied to VillageIT's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Both cameras come with rj45 and power jack ... you just wrap up power jack with amalgamated tape. Also both cameras come with waterproof cable management. The viper is Poe so no need for power. I would install yourself as the system is auto setup. We have 9 systems out now and there good and reliable Be careful on buying already made cables it will cost you more than making your own. Plus at camera end you have to put the rj45 on after you feed into the cable management Feeding back to your tv ..... this might be a problem for you ..... old TVs support 720p which might show a poor image or with not be in range not allowing any image. We supply Apple TV or the chrome and let customs see there camera feed from mobile device onto there tv. But yes there are devices to get nvr signal to TVs but you won’t have control of your unit ..... no mouse control Cat5 cable you should not be paying anymore that £55 Rj45 ends 20p each and are easy to put on -
Ground Loop or other voltage issue?
tomcctv replied to wick1144's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
So not a ground loop problem .. Did you find out how your getting AC on your coax ?? Or could it of been a faulty multimeter or your using wrong setting. You stated earlier in a post your using 12vdc ..... and coax will have some power and that will also be dc which is normal . -
Still sounds like a sequence problem. Look under alarms on channel 8 and you will see make large screen on detection you need to switch off all alarms

Op can buy better than lynden

Hi. VCL that's a name that has not been around for a few years Taken over by Honeywell 15 years ago. How is your vcl connected. And do you have the vcl joystick?

Hi. I would look at ADI. With buying hikvision you need to buy from aurtherised sellers .... Then you get the updates and firmware ....... Buying a copy or gray market you get nothing and in some cases the OSD is in Chinese But look at the 3mp dome you posted $380 . No support Then look at ADI 4mp dome $200 and full support . https://m.adiglobal.us/h5/plp?fullPath=%2FPages%2Fresults.aspx&v=3320&m=b But I would look at turret cameras as there much better than domes
-
Hi. You will be wasting your money buying from your links. Nearly $400 on your first link for a China copy import .......that is more than you would pay from aurtherised hik. With wall bracket your looking at over $500 that is crazy And on top of that its only 3mp dome. The company your buying from has already changed its name 3 times I would take more time and check on who and were you buy from. How many cameras and what type of business are you protecting.
-
Your not going to be more competitive and long term you will cost you customers more when the glue fails in time and camera falls down. At that point your customer will only call you a cowboy and again it's only being lazy. It's bad business's cutting corners.

Loosafe 4 Channel IP System
tomcctv replied to Bebe1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yes you can use that You will need to do a router factory reset to stop e-seenet connection. And when redoing remote view you need to set it up manually don’t use quick setup on recorder -

Loosafe 4 Channel IP System
tomcctv replied to Bebe1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Your cameras don't touch your router.... You have a wireless system direct to NVR. You picked quick network setup on first install ..... That means your NVR went into your router and set its own firewall bypass enabling your recorder to connect to e-seenet So away from your home network you are connecting to a server called e-seenet which is owned by HiChina Zhicheng Technology Ltd and your system while on the internet is alway connected to a server operated by Alibaba (China) Technology Co., Ltd in hong kong To get shut of all the China network crap you would have to do a full reset on your router ..... Don't re-do the easy network setup on your recorder ..... Instead get a static IP from your ISP or use a DDNS service. Then you will be in control of your own system and not have to pay for the extra data used -

Loosafe 4 Channel IP System
tomcctv replied to Bebe1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions

Thread watched Hikvision/VMS LPR Setup
tomcctv replied to JohnSmith1952's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So your talking about using standard hd or ip cameras and connecting to a LPR software? That is not a LPR camera ... you can’t go and buy a cheap $20 Jonny washable camera from eBay and call it LPR. But that’s all old school ip LPR are all in one now no pc needed -
Loosafe 4 Channel IP System
tomcctv replied to Bebe1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Did you setup port forwarding..... did you alter your firewall settings for your dvr. Or did you use a QR. Still makes no difference just means the qr code also did local. Which I did say in my post ... but better to setup yourself.. But you have gone off topic .... using data is your problem not local network. So again even tho you don’t like the answer your system is going out to a p2p cloud. ..... because you did not do a safer port forwarding.... do you want to know how to fix it or not ? -
Best Hard Drives for 24 camera 8MP System
tomcctv replied to PaulyP's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. If that’s the equipment your looking at then it’s not a good match .... no point in 8mp as it only will run 4 at 8mp. If your going with two cameras at H264 that’s another problem. If commercial I would not use a hikvision nvr .... cameras are ok but nvr will restrict you. What type of business are you ? The nvr you listed will only do 4 8mp cameras the others are 16 at 1080p so you will need two. -
Best Hard Drives for 24 camera 8MP System
tomcctv replied to PaulyP's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Your in the uk ..... Why do you need to hold footage for a year ? Max is two months. You can't use footage after that. Is this for home use or commercial? Using a storage calculator to calculate HD space never works out. You also have to take into account the amount of data processing on each camera which no calculator can tell you. 1 day you might have 20 people pass the camera and next day 100. H265 will help a lot with storage space but you need h265 from start to finish .... H265 to h264 will eat cpu What equipment are you using .... Cameras and recorder
