Hi. The problem is the age ..... No support and no internet updates to keep it safe. Did you buy it secondhand No, I actually bought the device as brand new. My fault is because I did not change default password. I even contacted the manufacturer two days ago, but did not respond to my query. Hi. It's been a few years since DVRs have been made with limitations of D1 and CIF ...... The very least 960h for standard analog

Face Detection on Camera
tomcctv replied to charlesrg's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Your right hik or dahua don't do it right .... Avermedia and geo worked but the face had to be in centre of image before it detected the face. Few years ago all domestic and light commercial recorder makers tried face detection and ended up not being a sales point You will need to go with pro equipment and software to get good results. Take a look at avigilon face appearance....... You will find videos on YouTube -

Need help with Qvis quattro
tomcctv replied to chrisfitzsimons44's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hope you don't mind me asking but what do you think of the Qvis kit and what cameras are you using. I am trying to decide on a make and configuration for my home. Did you buy direct from QVIS as I can't seem to find any resellers online Many thanks Hi. The qvis Quattro is a good system if your changing from analog to HD analog as it supports AHD TVI CVI and IP. Then it's just a matter of changing cameras to existing coax cable. If your looking at full new install and wanting IP then the viper is a good system -

If on standard analog then you have no control over the camera IR. You need distance to test smart ir you won’t see it work on a test bench. How are you setting ir distance from camera ? -

tomcctv replied to jfsoto1988's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Why do you need power outdoors for nvr .... you don’t need power for your dvr so why think you do for nvr. HD cables from amazon I doubt are even coax so just paint them -

Need help regarding cctv on my car
tomcctv replied to OMGitsDMC's topic in General Digital Discussion
Bad choice Why ask if you don’t listen. Make it public and you need to be sure your system is working. And you can’t refuse anyone who needs footage I would not register your system. Also on register it works the opposite ... people can now ask you to remove cameras
