Hi. Chris . Cost wise new dvr would be better. Going down the old PC pci card is old tech ...if your not bothered with remote viewing and you have an old PC to use .......pci is not a good option if you want to use your daily PC Hard drive partion extra hard drive space .....by the time you cost it up and still have old tech then standalone is best.

Hi. Not a good camera to use it is out of regulation for most countries PE is earth N is neutral L is live ...... And if this is the marking on your camera then you have the mains powered only 250v This also means you can't power it via the balun . The camera is old and very low spec 520tvl is poor for what we all use now

Menu screen on viper nvr ? Hi. Yes NVR blue or black And which app are you using
-
Hi. What colour is your menu screen blue or black
-
Hi. With no power in loft then just use a 4 way pass through Poe switch. They don’t cost much so just buy it local instead of going China
-
Hi. 1000s of answers no one could give the right one Wire configuration Radius of board Number of LEDs Depth and size of LEDs to fit into your existing cam body But it's just as cheap to buy new SDI cameras than all the messing around ordering wrong parts SDI are now cheap
-
Hi. How big is the file you want to download. Try doing a backup with about 5 mins of footage just to test if it will
-
Hi. Just use cat5 with baluns .....why do you need 10 cables for PTZ ?
-
Hi. No it can't be done. You could replace the t junction with a straight threw so you would have coax from house to garage Then run a new coax to the pole from the house.
-
First thing is put you HD back into recorder and log in to your recorder locally then look back at footage
-
Qvis are doing 4k but you need to be registered to see it. If hikvision sells a 4k 16 way recorder you don’t want to find out if you run 4k cameras then the total number of cameras is only 4 and you can’t add anything else..... does not make it a 16way. That is a false statement from hik. Dahua and lorex do 4k a lot better

Well at long last I managed to get back to this job of the ptz camera. I thank you tomcctv again you was right about both the power supply and the cable being the wrong type. I ran another cable alongside the other one I used speaker cable red and black up to 10 amps and everything works fine now. Thanks for all your help. Hi good to see you are sorted .... it’s a problem with most ptz cameras . Suppliers send out camera and power supply and people fit them. And when they don’t work properly it’s a head scratcher But the power supples supplied are to be used next to the camera which is not good. Also going oversize with power cable and power allows the camera to pull what it needs

Hi TomCCTV, Thanks for your reply. I guess I'd be happy with 5mp or less on many of the cameras. I believe I'd get a much better deal buying my camera set up, on AliExpress and they have a good range of dahua products. That's the reasons why I wanted to buy from China. I think all, or atleast most, CCTV systems come from China anyway? Hi. Buying from the likes of aliexpress eBay .... means no warranty no updates .... price is good if you only want it to last a few months. Then your budget ... 2k for a 16 way 4k system ... you want to record to nvr plus backup storage is HD space in your budget ..... 16 way managed switch is that in your budget . Also your uk ... and as of this month you are going to have to pay duty same with the USA sometime next month. You need to find out if buying gray market or the real thing. Both dahua and hik have blokes gray market being used on there new software so if gray you are on old software and short life products

Hi. Why buy from China if your in Yorkshire Do you need to have 8mp on every camera ?
-
Hikvision is far behind with tech ...... This is hard to say but even budget avtech has now better 4K system than hikvision
-
Hi. No that's not right 4K monitor output is 4K output 4 X screen would still be 4K
-
Hi. The 8 way will play back 4 at 8mp. Just as that is top of the limit for that NVR You need to have both camera and NVR set at H265. But you also have another problem which will reduce your viewing and in some cases miss recordings And that is two of your cameras the DS-2CD2785FWD-IZS also has audio. Your recorder will struggle at 8mp and also audio compression Just for a test remove two cameras over night and then look back on your footage. If that is ok connect them back but disable audio on both cameras and see how that goes.

Camera that supports ip and SDI
tomcctv replied to tdenson's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I know it sounds like am always disagreeing with you but I could of said tvi in the first place .... The reason cvi will do the job better Hikvision cameras are ok but you ask any pro and they would not install a hikvision recorder. Just scan the forum and the most let down recorder is a hikvision and that's the same on any forum. Are you looking to play back your recordings with audio -
Camera that supports ip and SDI
tomcctv replied to tdenson's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ok so no need to buy a hybrid And I know security spy very well ...... So now your not bothered about realtime lip sink. The dahua cvi software is Canadian not Far East and recorders are soon to be made in Canada for USA and Canadian market. But all that said I think you have been talking about something completely different And your problem was your post title (A camera that supports IP and SDI) I still stand buy that is not made for CCTV and would be pointless. Your post should of been SDI broadcasting camera which is not the same as SDI in the CCTV industry.. Broadcasting SDI something like Panasonic AW-HE60SN PTZ Camera (HD-SDI) which will not connect to a dvr or NVR. Or security spy. If your looking at say .... Recording your choir and you want video and sound recording with no lag in video or audio then you need broadcasting SDI A completely different format than any CCTV formats Cvi tvi AHD or IP can give you realtime live view but if you wanted to record in those formats audio will be a problem in playback. You are looking for two independent systems ... Security and live broadcasting system ..... Info for SDI broadcasting you should be looking at AV forums. Panasonic and bosh SDI broadcast cameras we had a discussion on the forum about 6 years ago. You would only need 1 SDI PTZ broadcast camera situated in the right location. -
Please help - identify system and troubleshoot

Hi. Don't plug a keyboard in ......that unit does not take one and can't take one. If you are getting the same result with hard drive out then you have a dead recorder. Again the unit is too old to do anything with ......I doubt the last owner used that recorder .......might of swapped it out when he moved . Put the recorders hard drive into a PC don't format and have a look through and see when it was last used -
Camera that supports ip and SDI
tomcctv replied to tdenson's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ok. So you want to build two systems and add a Mac computer And then pay for Mac software fore each camera Why ..... Cvi is dahua and already Mac compatable. With no extra cost. IP comes in 2-3-4-5-8mp .... But cvi also comes in 2-3-4-5-8mp Going some cameras IP you will need to take cameras to a switch so you can connect to recorder and also have the ability to send the data also to security spy and also pay to use that software Cvi IP hybrids only needs you to load free software onto your Mac -

i'm not considering CVI because I want a network solution using the existing Cat6 wiring. And why do you think you can’t use your cat6 for cvi Since you started your post you have been talking sdi .... same thing will run on cat 6 You have just made a mistake in your last answer .... by not knowing what runs on cat6 And you think my answers are aggressive...... there not aggressive it’s I am trying to get a point across You don’t want ip because of lag ..... we understand that You want duel ip sdi cameras ......... don’t exist You want system to run on cat6 ....... which cvi tvi sdi does. So now we are back to your first question Why do you want old sdi And I think that’s a good enough question to start your post off again -

So what do you think about the cvi option Gave you a good option yet you don't comment Your mind is stuck on SDI .... Old tech . Spit your dummy out because you don't understand or the answer is not what you want to hear Be honest to your church and tell them to get a pro in You don't even want to talk about how cvi works -
Why call down....your eBay links are from them But some more advice .....when you see .... Hikvision uk software in discription ....then you are not buying from a hikvision aurtherised seller. AAACCTV ltd.... Aka ...... Exvision CCTV ltd struck off 2017 now calling themselfs HD security ltd. Good luck on them being aurtherised which I know there not with us only being 12 miles from them.
