saving video files etc onto flash drive Sannce DL81B
tomcctv replied to Hugosp's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. Burning off footage or using flash drive instead of hard drive ? -
Hi. I would give Amazon and the likes a miss ......systems need upgrades and support. Installing yourself I would go IP with NVR with built in POE ...... No messing around with getting coax and power to cameras and installing power supplies. 1 cat5 to each camera is all you need Plug and play for full setup for cameras remote cell viewing and cloud backup. https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/hd-security-camera-system-with-2k-recorder-weatherproof-cameras/LN10802-84W-1-p

Newbie - CCTV system in Sri Lanka - please can someone help?
tomcctv replied to lara21's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yes I know you don’t have regulations there .... and I do know not to question your installers can lead to more problems. But one thing I would surgest is the plug top that has all the feeds from it ..... I would split that up into 4 plug tops ..... plug tops with a fuse .... your installers have done it that way for expense ..... plug tops are expensive there . As far as being on a tree again it’s standard practice there to mount power outdoors ..... no need to worry about wet weather or earthing You don’t see earthing till you get into builtup towns or the city Does your property have an earth rod Also when touching your dvr is it static or electric -
Please help me select a PTZ auto tracking camera
tomcctv replied to str8rippin's topic in System Design
Hi. Australia the land of expensive. The dahua is a good camera but useless just like the hikvision if being used as the only camera. Auto track never works.... the videos make it look good but there not What type of site are you protecting .... how big ..... is it open space ? SD card recording on a ptz is pointless and will let you down ..... on a fixed camera it’s ok for short footage backup but ptz moves all the time day and night 3&4g for what you are going to pay in Australia will be expensive you might want to look at a carrier that offers security sims and only pay a subscription like regular broadband I would look at using more cameras than auto track .... it will protect more ..... and also have a recorder on site so as you can have much more video storage. I know cctv options are limited in Australia and is expensive but what part are you in Australia -

Which of these are best for apartment building security?
tomcctv replied to SAF's topic in Security Cameras
. Hi. That depends on your settings 12tb you should get between 2 and 3 weeks. And also how much motion is picked up by cameras. With your system ....you should look at H265 ..... But if your cameras are set to H264 it will eat away your storage (yours does both) -
Hi . No you can't update via the lorex . .... Your q-see camera is a dahua and your lorex is also a dahua. Dahua have sent firmware for all NVRs and cameras and requires a full setup again once done. All dahua devices require 8 characters in password with numbers letters and 8 and above long ..... This also applies to IP cameras to connect

Record Stream on NVR from another NVR
tomcctv replied to DiAngelo's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Dahua have put a lot of security into there products and if you have not updated your NVRs in the past month then you need to. You can do all your settings from smart PSS buy using p2p on all recorders (but needs new firmware first) if you are using dahua bbns service you have to delete those accounts -
Hi. With you getting the start screen it sounds like your monitor might be out of range What monitor are you using
-
Hi. You will need to update your q-see firmware to work on the lorex to allow security patch. You need to down load q-see config tool to your PC first

He has put your windows in He has stabbed someone And you want to only show him your footage ? How much did it cost you to replace the window last time £60 -$70 is not much of a budget Cameras behind glass. Never works ... Image will be useless This is ideal for you but £20 over your budget. ..... But at least you will not be wasting the little budget you do have. https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/smart-tech/smart-tech/smart-home/ring-video-doorbell-satin-nickel-10145936-pdt.html

Hi. Lorex ONVIF works well and upto date. What make of camera was you using ?
-
Hi. You will have to tell us your budget .. With saying 240v are you in the UK. If so. Bad footage can not help you .... It needs to be clear and adle to identify. So on a budget don't waste buying crap. Along with your footage I would also have audio
