Need to replace Hik turret - wait for 4k/30fps or not?
tomcctv replied to theTastyCat's topic in Security Cameras
Do you have a 4K monitor to view it on? If it's an IP system you can buy a 4K and drop it in with no worries. You will just not "see" 4K unless you have the appropriate monitor. It’s not that simple ..... going 4k cameras and 4K monitor will still not give you 8k Better pc with 4k graphics .... more storage also needed -
Hi. That will not work His Samsung is a CIF analog system it will not allow to pull one camera with RSTP feed .......... It will only allow all cams
-
Hi. Take a look at lorex Much better than camera listed. https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/hd-security-camera-system-with-nvr-4-dome-cameras/HDIP422Z-1-p
-
Hi. Are you looking to do this on a PC ? The dvr is old so not much you can do with RSTP other than all cameras together. You could use the web view with an account name that just allows viewing of 1 camera

www.digilinksol.com Trading for only 2 months ..... did you buy out of date stock. No one uses 720 Why do people only buy $2 domain names for just a year ?

Both your own links are over your budget. You lowest link ... only works out at $37 an item Does your budget also include other parts needed to get it to run Power supply...... rg59 cable ..... bnc and tool and then a hard drive ...... just these parts alone has taken your budget

4K ..... are you looking at changing everything ? 4k will not work on your existing system -
Why only choose from those two systems ? 1st one is junk and cheap and also first lesson on buying online .......check website for contact numbers or at least a email .... your first link has none of them. Choose from the two ..... none
-
Not a good camera .... only need to look at iTunes or google play to see how bad it is.

Hi. No point loading dahua software if you don’t have a dahua. A lot of cheap DVRS will not play audio until it is burnt off What is audio like in live view
-

CCTV Footage magically cut at the exact moment crime was com
tomcctv replied to SomethingFishy2018's topic in General Digital Discussion
Depends on what state you are in .... end of day it’s theft and yes police do have to be involved... Insurered.........they will not pay out without police report or at least there involvement. Google the hotel you stayed at ...... look at trip advisor see if others have had theft. Also look at your state laws for public space cctv ..... and public request to have a copy -

tomcctv replied to SomethingFishy2018's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. You would need to get a copy of the footage. Then you can check for watermark and signature. Both will tell you if the footage has been altered...... You need to ask for native file or footage direct from the recorder. -
Hi. The problem is how the seller sells on eBay ...... the word LAN should not of been used LAN = local area network...... something that attaches to your home router or switch What you have is hdmi to cat cable to hdmi utp The spec of your eBay hdmi is 10m cat5 20m cat 6 But nothing to do with cable type it’s how good the hdmi sender is and that price is cheap It might work with cat7 but that’s your risk .... I have always used cat5e and not had any problems
-
Hi. Don’t order your cable from China ...... if your in the uk you might not get it as there is now a regulation in place on data cable. You are still under your requirements for distance by 5 meters going cat6 shielded Toolstation does a hdmi sender for £20 but you will need to run 2 cat5
-
Just found the spec for that eBay link Cat5 10m Cat6 shielded 20m If you already have cat 5 installed ..... You have to workout the cost of replacing that cable to cat 6 but you are still under your distance needed Or buy a good HDMI extender with audio and remote option with 60m over cat5 .........about £100
-
Hi. For that distance you should be ok. We’re did you get your car5 from ? And spec Make yourself a 10m length of cat5 and test it going from recorder to a tv with hdmi I would also try T568a at both ends and if still not working I would try straight through

Inexpensive camera - notifications when motion NOT detected
tomcctv replied to jonathanh's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Forget about all the Arduino crap. Talk about keeping things simple Camera location 200 mile away For elderly person in her 90s Clouds don’t effect motion if camera is indoors. A cost effective way is to use something simple The ring doorbell does not only have to be on outside of door .... you can install it inside the home as well ...... and in fact can do 3 useful things for you Send snap shots to you on motion Allow you to hear and talk to her And like you said she will not use a panic button bracelet but just by her pushing the ring button you will then have a video sent and can communicate with each other if she has a problem All 3 are separate functions...... snap shots sent when movement Video sent when button is pushed And two way audio when you connect Full WiFi mains or battery operated Good simple way ..... and under your budget -

tomcctv replied to Last_One's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Well at least you have a controller You will need a 8 to 10v power supply as your not using serial If you have the pin out for serial you can chop connectors off lens and do it that way
