Computar Lens (V10Z1618MS) with Litton connected to WV-BP142
tomcctv replied to Last_One's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. It depends on how you want to control it. 20 year old cam .... You need something with old serial connector or a Manchester box to be able to have protocol It would be cheaper and easier to make you own push button switch. It's ok buying the old stuff cheap ....... But costs a lot to be able to run on modern equipment. Serial to USB and find a programme to control is also another option. Something like moxa. But is it worth it -
Why cat 6 .... good quality cat5 full copper 3part rj45 ...... don’t buy metal ..... 20 mins a standard crimp rj45 only takes 5 mins 3 part rj45 are new ..... why not use 30 year old tried and trusted crimp rj45

Hi. No you only need 1 set of power line adapter....... Poe switch in man cave to take your two cameras ..... They will link back to NVR with just the one power line Bandwidth is not a problem as cams are h265 Backing up that's free from lorex If you have Swann it's going to look like a toy compared to the LNR6826KP Night vision is colour. For your cat5 cable in uk it is getting expensive but a good outlet is tool station and is good cable. https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p72918?table=no
-
Hi . Yes that will work .... But even better if power line is direct to NVR than going to router then NVR. Also don't buy cheap power line or you will have to lower res on man cave cameras ...... Go for something like the netgear 1200 or even better go with the netgear 1200 wifi. This will allow wifi at man cave for laptop or mobile devices

It makes sense as all the rest of your system is dahua -
LTS is an authorized Hik distributor if you want to buy Hik labeled items they have them as well. They are about 25% more expensive than their LTS branded cameras. At least do a google search of their site. Oem your right cheaper than hik .... but there not hik. It like I said it’s not about sales it’s about value and system that is right for the install . LTS does not offer cloud and for a vacation home which is empty cloud is a extra security value

Recording on SD Card
tomcctv replied to pietera's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. You will need to setup recording via a pc ( yell camera what to do) But a SD card on a ptz Is like putting a snooze button on a smoke detector ...... pointless Ptz moves all the time so setting up motion detection does not work. ..... you are limited to how many hours of footage not days. If something happends the footage has over written -

Need help connecting LTS Doorbell with Lorex NVR
tomcctv replied to swooosh83's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. You need to set the doorbell up manually in your router ....... in the ip range of your cameras on your nvr. ...... but you will loose some doorbell functions like alerts as your only pulling video Changing nvr is not a option your cheapest way is to send back your doorbell and buy the dahua one. This way you have control a cross all platforms and apps ...... plus you only need the one app .......click home on mobile app and see doorbell setup -
IDMSS won't PTZ on iphone
tomcctv replied to cemscanada's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi ... now try app just updated app was replaced 3 days ago and again was updated this morning so you need to update the app -
Wow QED manchester I have not seen on of them in years. Unfortunately it has come to the end of its life .... no support for old cif systems. DVRS are not expensive in the uk look for a qvis Quattro or a viper dvr it will be a direct replacement for your old qed unit and will run you existing cameras and will take the new hd such as cvi tvi ahd ip And both will also run on Mac

Again buy true hikvision Hik are changing software to stop gray and in authorised oem. You only have to look on the forum lately to see people are loosing connection to vms ..... and also there remote service .... for a vocation home the last thing you need is the system down and you know nothing about it. Dahua or hikvision...... we use dahua flir . More reliable than hik ... there cloud service is America based making it more secure But as your diy installer it’s not just about the camera make as your not going to see any difference it’s about what the product can do. Vacation home cloud service is something that will benefit you with not always being there. Always two days of backup footage is there if anything happends
-
Hi. If you are set on hikvision I would also stick with a genuine USA dealer. But as there cameras ar good there NVRs are not the best choice. I would also look at flir systems (dahua) and with it being for a vacation home I would also look at cloud backup which is offered free from flir ......always have 2 days of backup in case recorder is stolen

Lagless Live View Camera/System For CNC Machines
tomcctv replied to eric9547's topic in System Design
Hi. Yes a 4 way will do the job I would use 3 analog HD cameras and 1 analog HD mini ptz. (Fits in palm of hand). Fixed clamp one end but other is different on each job size and you don’t want to be moving 1 camera view bt hand on different size jobs ....... operator cam move it via mouse at pc station. I would also look at 4 in 1 camera. .... cvi tvi ahd 960 Because of speeds involved you will have a choice on what HD format ... again controlled by mouse at pc station. I would look at qvis Quattro 5 and qvis 4 in 1 steel turret cameras and there mini ptz 4 in 1 all 2 mp. Looking at a budget of £400 to £450 -

Problem for view my dvr with 3G on Android.
tomcctv replied to macfly007's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. It will work with a few apps but you are taking away the p2p setup by creating your own ip with using a ddns service .... (your recorder has its own ddns) Explore app also works well and also dahua apps ..... dahua needs port changing. Try explorer app and scan qr code ... that’s all you need to do -

Lagless Live View Camera/System For CNC Machines
tomcctv replied to eric9547's topic in System Design
