Neighbor surveillance including my property
tomcctv replied to Brewsky88's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. Always two sides to a story you say your next door are not happy about what you do in your garage. You will know what the complaint is as you have had letters off next door and landlord and police But you don’t tell what it is you do in your garage. Next door now have a camera looking at your garage he has probably been told by police to collect footage and make a log of anything going on -
You can also say no to a customer ...... why do something that is no longer allowed...... that’s the point in electrical code. For a tech guy ..... is it not simpler and better business practice to just buy a new head unit.... something with rs485 and be able to use hd or analog camera instead of using old 220v analog cameras How will you control the head and camera ...... dvr or pc or controller.
-
Hi. Your first post says your tech support RS485 is just a relay box ??? No relays used it’s a digital signal Your head does not even have RS485 and is listed as 220v only Again it’s too old and not to regulation It can be done with a control box (Manchester box) but the cost makes no sense when you can buy a ptz cheaper

Network Horn Speaker or Loud speaker?
tomcctv replied to Crossix's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. What type of property?? There are much simpler ways. Horns and speakers he will need to monitor his screen all the time. Use something automatic I would look at the optex VX-402REC -
Spec is for 220v head
-
Low and high voltage is a big deal...... that’s why we have regulations...... you can’t go 220v control and have rs485 You will need a manchester box to control the head you have listed
-
Hi. That is old and would not pass any electrical regulations

Very strange situation with my IP cam.
tomcctv replied to ghert23's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
There is your answer. Yeah ok it's a cheap chinese ipcam. But the thing is that even that it's a cheap piece, it SHOULD have a way to reset. Sounds like a P2P China camera .... located and run on there server. You first setup was with original password... which is also on there server....... change camera password local and you get no access from there server. Try re installing .... But why do you want a cheap camera that a stranger can watch you -
Hi. Don’t use DMZ just give your dvr a IP address manually and then give it a port number in your router. The more you do manually the more secure your system will be Change passwords set own network is always safer and you already have your own static ip

How to Choose Perfect Security Solution for Home?
tomcctv replied to Ranen's topic in Security Cameras
It doesn't matter how old company is. The important thing is the quality of service they provide. If you have any doubt then visit on their website check reviews of their clients. I also shop HD security camera in Orlando from Wetter Solutions and it gives me desired results. It does matter how old a company is .. own website reviews are not worth crap. So why spam forums if company is doing well ?? -

PTZ not responding after preset?
tomcctv replied to Mitch619911's topic in General Digital Discussion

PTZ not responding after preset?
tomcctv replied to Mitch619911's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Not a good idea to try setup ptz from cloud. A preset is only a position of camera head..... but also 90 and above can also be a enter menu command to go into ptz. With you doing it over the web to server in China and then back to your system the command might of started a command you did not ask for. On your recorder menu do you have numbers as well as ptz controls .... try pressing 90 fast .... or 99 fast and see if ptz menu comes up Also what happends when you firsts power camera up
