Is there a DVR that can replay the last couple minutes
tomcctv replied to totojones's topic in Digital Video Recorders

Need DVR Suggestion for Swann Cameras
tomcctv replied to MartinsNews's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Swann has never done cvi. Rebrand hik for both tvi and ip -
Forget arlo system .... you are for ever paying for something you own NEVER let a 3rd party run and own your system and you are always against me. lol. Are you the only one allowed to comment about cameras, arlo etc? I think you should chill. Life is beautiful, go out, make friends, live your life happily Listen don’t worry about me ...... and read the post again....... nothing was said about you Arlo has a monthly payment for data storage ....... people like to pay for things AND OWN THEM. Why buy something and have to pay to use it Not to mention the big hole it puts in firewall for there easy setup
-
LTS is just a re badge company .... guess who’s recorders they use

Hi. No it will not .....hik firmware will now only work with hik and hik licences systems. You can't use hik-connect to connect with copy or none licensed hik. All you need to do is forget the QR code. Just do port forwarding......and your system would be more secure

Traveling cable and Camera install for elevator
tomcctv replied to LucyB's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You can’t use a 3rd party to do any electrical work on a elevator Elevator company own elevator space .... there insurance there responsibility Ask them for a price for 110 feed on top of lift .... this is usually taken from elevator light circuit NOT a new feed install. Sounds like you have asked for a 110 feed to be added .... this would not be allowed or needed..... you use the existing power -
Traveling cable and Camera install for elevator
tomcctv replied to LucyB's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
POE camera can be powered from lift top via a injector. Which will take all of 20 mins to install. Going cable will take a day or so........ lift has to be out of commission while you work on new cables... then you have to have your cables tested Or easy way ..... lift tops usually have at least one socket on the top or install one and then your camera is just plug and play -
Again it's a monitor problem. TV or monitor .... It's the same thing. But you have answered your own question. Points to monitor settings .
-
Hi. Sounds like it’s your monitor giving you the message

Video balun not working right
tomcctv replied to erictelese's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
It has been explained to you in your other post. Now you have wasted more money by buying the wrong baluns You need to stop thinking you have a network connector on the end of your cables ... YOU don’t Still don’t understand why you are wasting time on 380tvl cameras Chop the connectors off your cables so you can’t get confused anymore. And if you follow instructions you could spend 10 minutes each camer and have it done -

tomcctv replied to coltmanneil's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. You need to switch off mobile data on your phone to set p2p Needs to be done from dvr local network. Once up and running then you can use mobile data. How long have you had your dvr4 ??? The app you have listed does not support the 1350. Your setup QR code is not on the box ..... It is displayed on the screen when internet connection is set. -
Hi. If bought cheap then it may not be a hikvision. What do you mean about qr scan will not work ? Does it scan but not let you view Does it not scan at all
-

CCTV Install In Washington DC, Experience?
tomcctv replied to tchavis1989's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. I have a 8way in DC at a Irish bar. Never had any problems... but I was under licence via a test company ... I’m based UK. Virgins / West Virginia / DC all close but very different regulations low voltage is only needed on commercial installs and another state might need low voltage for both domestic and commercial. In your case in DC you might only need licence for networking/ LAN infrastructure and not for plug play Poe ip systems. Or you could just use a licenced low voltage contractor to install cables only to get past the regulations -
New CCTV quotes are ALL for Analog systems, why?
tomcctv replied to AnalogVsDigital's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. Two types of analog..... Standard analog D1 960h which is old and no longer used. And analog HD 720 or 1080 . In formats CVI or TVI or AHD r SDI Most being 2mp some now upto 4mp And then you have IP systems 1.3mp right up to 29mp or above. Both system types are good ......and IP is much easier to install for the DIYer .......1 cat5 to each camera ...also does the power Analog HD is coax and power cable Price wise there is not much differance......analog HD also needs camera power supplies so is not as clean and tidy as you have with IP. Some of the long timers on here will also tell you years ago a system would last you 5 to 10 years. But now that is not the case .....cvi tvi ahd keeps changing so your system can be out of date in 1 to 2 years ......take hikvision and there tvi system ......first you had tvi now we have tvi3 but each system is not compatable so to upgrade its a new complete system. IP has still got the edge on analog HD as to upgrade is only software updates on both the NVR and cameras. IP also gives you a fall back.......if your NVR goes bad you can still access cameras and record via PC (when local network is created) I would look at installing yourself and saves money. Look at the lorex IP systems. We have there IP system running for over 4 years with no problems. -
