Hi. Not bought one yet but have had a demo for two days .......we only ran 4 cvi cameras on it to test and is impressive...... But I think I found 1 or 2 limitation problems I will say it's the best unit to come out in the past 10 years .... All the technology has been brought together in one unit. And it's not all dahua .... Some big companies are behind its development ..... Avigilons licence to use some of there technology....also flir has had a big input. Software....... Lots of new which is back compatable------ DSS ....IVS ....... And the updated mobile apps. Security ....... They say have worked a lot on ......not had time to check .... But I was told to understand that any attack can be detected and stopped......something about a management key in the form of a dongle. But impressed with what I seen and also looked at videos on the new DSS vms also intergrates with brand name door entry systems and alarm system. Two problems I think will be a problem ........ Cvi cameras are done at camera end just like IP so saves on cpu....... Tvi is done at dvr end so if loaded full with tvi there might be a problem. Some of the IVS functions might also be lost if using IP and cvi together.

You will see time recording on the left Tick top left top box next to time then enter 00.00 at top and 24.00 at bottom Click advanced and click all Left clock is for night setting so you don't need them so untick the box next to time on right

Hi. The answer is no. You can't buy crap and make it better with firmware And to go analog HD you would need to change hardware as well. Don't think of buying a 32 way dvr.....you are wasting more money Forget analog ...... You should only be looking at IP -CVI-TVI Analog is out of date and waste of money

Hi. You was doing well till you typed foscam Your talking pounds ? So take it you are in the uk Head office and 22 outlets is a big business and you should not be talking about budget since business cctv in the uk is tax deductible I would swap out your foscams and replace with hikvision 2mp sd cams at each location. Then you could dump each days recordings at separate times at night ..... when head office net work is more free. You still have live view. I would also have a nvr at one of your other locations to get all 22 feeds as a backup if anything happends to head office network

Hi. With dash cams now being a standard accessory in cars and trucks. We have a high failure rate. Not just from cheap cameras but also $200-$300 cameras We always install class 10 SD cards and not ones supplied so we know we don't have recording problems. We have 4 of the Vicovation marcus 5 http://www.vicovation.com Not cheap at $250. Support was good for two systems but then no reply to emails. With the amount of firmware updates out should of been a warning there was a problem. Also other problems with the Marcus 5. Does not like heat at all .... And both cameras run hot anyway so summer use they are for ever shutting down. We have also had to replace power supplies on 2 out of the 4 ... Not good enough to run both the cameras. The picture quality is one of the best out of all we have used and the added benifit of rear camera also good images But system is no good with reboot problems system life 13 months Nextbase is another brand we have 2 of https://www.nextbase.co.uk Good little small camera but again heat problems ( they just shut down till cool) this has only happened to 1 of the cameras. Customer puts it away when car is parked up. Which prevents using the shock sensor function It would be interesting to hear what others use and to be honest with how they stand up to everyday use.

Hi. The qsee cable is not 75ohm cable so you need to change the ends of each cable if you want to get the best from your system. Can you cut one end off the qsee cable and strip it back and post a picture

Hi. I would say your router is the weak link. Hackers would not be bothered going into your network and enter dvr to change camera names. Your router should of had a firmware update last November But I would just change your router........ No point having one of the most hackable routers on the market. Netgear have routers that send you alerts to any changes to your network or sub devices on the network.

Hi you only have two options with the alien unit. Buy the reset box ........which is expensive if only using it once. Or send it back to system Q to be reset they are in Chesterfield

Hi that is giving a warning ...... change time and system will crash. It is not as simple as just changing the date I would spend more time looking for at least an other dvr and use a 1tb hard drive

Hi Jeff No not a good idea ....... It will mess with motion but also you will have no camera view at night ............it will be like looking into a cloud. And winter you will get condensation problems in your camera with cold and heat. Not a good image to have .

Hi. Ok I can only think of 3 options to help you. First is ........ Your missing the Poe .......... Use brown pair to replace the green damage pair and power the camera local with a injector. Second is to be a little creative with your rj45 plug Cut green pair off both ends and use the brown pair In 3 and 6 pin 3 white green ...... Make white brown 6 green ...... Make brown. This is the tricky part pin 4 and 5 is + power and 7 and 8 is - power. Use single blue for + power and white blue for - power You will need to crimp your blue at cable end to give you 2 blues and crimp them into 4 and 5 Do the same with white blue and connect them to 7 and 8 That will bring your Poe back. Option 3 Is swap out that camera for analog use 1 pair for video and the rest for power and other end use a IP encoder to use the cam Hope that helps
